I just want to clarify. So you did GraphicsEnabler=No (because it was Yes in my attachment)? If so, I will add a note that you can use GraphicsEnabler=No in Multibeast Customization -> Boot Options -> GraphicsEnabler=No.

Yes. Will one over-ride the other though?

QE/CI is graphics acceleration. Easy way to check is look at your menu bar -- if the desktop background picture is 'showing through' (eg. the menu bar is partially transparent), then it is probably working. You can also enable magification on the OS X dock, and see if you get smooth animation.

Yes on both accounts :D

Happy as Larry. Thanks RehabMan..... It's been a pleasure. (Hasn't it?)

Yes, Multibeast just edits the file for you...

Glad you have everything working... I think this board makes for a pretty nice hack.

Just a quick word to thank you Rehabman for your DSDT-patches. Without running into these I would never have found enough motivation to try get my DH67CF w/ i3-2125 up and running a second-time.

I did spend a few hours to edit my own DSDT last year but didn't try hard enough as there were too many discouraging comments on this board and not enough success stories.

But this time it went quick:
- used my self-made chimera/mbr-enabled ML-installer usb, to install ML on a usb-hdd (-x bootflag)
- took the usb-hdd to my other hack where i added your DSDT, SSDT and chimera and macmini 5,3 smbios
- i later patched my own raw dsdt using your edits and also chose HDEF audio-ID 3, to enable hdmi-audio combined with alc892 codec (thanks Toleda)
- used gparted-usb stick to create space on the SSD behind the windows partition and copied the newly created ML partition over, used chameleon to boot into it, installed chameleon on the SSD and voila, done!

There has been some fiddling with powermgt though. I currently use PStates=No, CStates=Yes and DropSSDT=Yes, but still do not understand the relationship between these and the presence/contents of SSDT-file(s) in the Extrra folder. Some more work ahead there!

Anyway, everything including sleep, usb-3 and hdmi audio is working brilliantly. the DH67CF is just so power-efficient and boots blazingly fast, the perfect htpc-platform (even on windows!)

so thanks again Rehabman for sharing your DSDT edits!

Nice to hear it went well... I almost didn't even try to hack my board after I read how sleep wasn't working, but then I was able to fix it...

I don't provide a DSDT or SSDT, but OK...

Yeah, I haven't tried HDMI audio yet as this is my desktop (no HDMI-audio enabled amp hooked to it). But it is pretty easy addition to DSDT patches.

Basically you use GeneratePStates/Cstates=No because this info is coming from your Apple specific SSDT in /Extra/ssdt.aml. And DropSSDT=Yes, so OEM SSDT (not Apple specific) that are there do not get in the way and confuse OS X.

Anyway, everything including sleep, usb-3 and hdmi audio is working brilliantly. the DH67CF is just so power-efficient and boots blazingly fast, the perfect htpc-platform (even on windows!)

I have two DH67CF running Windows (Media Center) for HTPC purposes. They are great for that. Also my main HTPC is using DH67BL. One other DH67BL in my server (WHS 2011), and then the DH67GD in my dev desktop. So... I have a lot of this board family... They are nice. And what do you know... they run OS X pretty well too...

so thanks again Rehabman for sharing your DSDT edits!

Glad they were useful...

Updated the guide (and various other posts) to reflect the fact that you can boot to a GPT disk if you enable UEFI in BIOS.

Hi!

This is my computer:

Intel 17 2600K 3,40 GHz
Intel DH67CL mobo with Sandy Bridge chipset.
Nvidia Geforce GTX 550ti 1536MB
16 GB DDR3 Ram.

I was trying to install Snow Leopard on my PC following Tony's guide step by step but I read that my NVIDIA doesn't work in Snow Leopard.

I used Multibeast for Snow Leopard to install drivers:

-Easy Beast (Chimera. .... FakeSMC.kext, LegacyAppleRTC.kext, EvOreboot.kext, JMicron36xATA.kext, AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext in / Extra / Extensions. Installs 32 - Bit org.chameleon.Boot.plist with GraphicsEnabler = Yes, Apple Boot Screen and NPCI = 0x2000 kernel flag, MacPro3, one smbios.plist .... etc)

- Realtek ALC8xx -> ALC8xxHDA / AppleHDA Rollback / ALC892 (Non-DSDT HDA Enabler).

-Hnak's AppleIntelE1000e

Everything works minus NVIDIA.

The next step was to install Unibeast for Lion 10.7 but it don't load on my SL so I used the tony's xMove - Lion 1.5.1 guide to set the installation on a usb disk

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com.es/2011/07/xmove-multibeast-install-os-x-107-lion.html

After the installation I lost the sound but my Nvidia worked and Shutdown works ....

The next step was to update Lion 10.7 to 10.7.5 with the combo updater and Multibeast for Lion and I lost the sound and I get the shutdown problem. I tried to read everything about this problem and the problem of DH67CL with sound, internet and shutdown. (I do not check the Sleep but it's not important to me.)

Finally I found this thread mentioned in other threads talking about how to install DH67CL but they are for MOUNTAIN LION and I don't know if it works for LION 10.7.5 . Seems a little mess and I download MaciASL (Lion Version) and the OS can't open it. I try some of the installation steps and custom kexts that my OS let me but I only got panic problems, boots with no return and I had to reinstall the OS again and again....(I didn't do it well or my 10.7 didn't let it).

Finally I remembered that after the installing of Snow Leopard following all steps to updade to 10.6.8 for Sandy Bridge chispset I had get work everything minus NVIDIA and with the LION 10.7 my NVIDIA works but not the sound.... So I opened Multibeast without Update to 10.7.5 and I installed EasyBeast and kext for ALC892 and the Nvidia (OpenCL).....but the sound didn't work.

So what I've done is open Multibeast for Snow Leopard and I reinstalled the EasyBeast and the first installation kext I describe in Snow Leopard installation (ALC8xxHDA / AppleHDA Rollback / ALC892 (Non-DSDT HDA Enabler) and EasyBeast). I don't remember if after this I get the sound or I had to run Multibeast for Lion taking only the kext for ALC892 (Non-DSDT HDA Enabler) but now I have a PC with Lion 10.7 with sound, graphics card, internet and shutdown .... works.

I have a lot of questions ;):

Do I need to have the latest update (OS 10.7.5) to work with all applications correctly (I use photo apps, hd video editing app, sound studio app, ...)?

How can I know if my computer works 100% (cpu speed, ram, ... all!)?
I see in "about this mac" I have all the information but in Snow Leopard "it" lied me. It show my NVIDIA but couldn't change the resolution and I don't trust in his information. :p

Have I done the right thing or I have to pay again for ML and try to do all the steps of your installation guide?

Sorry for my english...I'm spanish...perhaps you don't understand it at all. If this is helpful for someone I can try to explain it better but basically I install Multibeast for Snow Leopard on Lion and then I get the sound kext from Multibeast for Lion(this is not sure...I do a lot of things in my computer this week...If the sound doesn't work try to install ALC892 (Non-DSDT HDA Enabler) )

I need to know If I have to update to 10.7.5 with the risk of the shutdown problem and sound (again) or my 10.7 is OK to work with it.

Thanks to everybody who is trying to help with guides!!!

That is a lot of extra stuff you don't need for this board.

- Realtek ALC8xx -> ALC8xxHDA / AppleHDA Rollback / ALC892 (Non-DSDT HDA Enabler).

I prefer DSDT edits over enablers, especially for audio.

My suggestion is to use this guide to install Lion. I also have Lion on this same computer using this same guide. I also have SL on this machine; only problem is at initial boot I have black screen... sleeping the computer (with the power button) and waking it back up fixes it. But I don't need SL, I just did it to see what might happen.

Probably start out using the onboard graphics, then change what you need to for the Nvidia graphics. I've never done any discrete graphics on OS X as the onboard graphics suit my needs just fine, so I can't offer much advice there. The DSDT patches for the onboard graphics are separate from the rest, and there are some other people in this thread that have been successful.

Finally I remembered that after the installing of Snow Leopard following all steps to updade to 10.6.8 for Sandy Bridge chispset I had get work everything minus NVIDIA and with the LION 10.7 my NVIDIA works but not the sound.... I would install 10.7.5 directly if you can, otherwise use the combo update to get there. Since 10.7.5 is not sold on the Mac App Store anymore and you can't download it when already purchased, you'll have to have an install app that you purchased previously.

How can I know if my computer works 100% (cpu speed, ram, ... all!)?
I see in "about this mac" I have all the information but in Snow Leopard "it" lied me. It show my NVIDIA but couldn't change the resolution and I don't trust in his information. :p

It depends on exactly what you want to verify.

Have I done the right thing or I have to pay again for ML and try to do all the steps of your installation guide?

I'm not sure why you'd have to "pay again for ML." If you already purchased ML, you can download it again (free) from the Mac App Store.

Believe me, your english is fine. Follow my guide for Lion and it should work, other than whatever special you have to do for your video card.

I need to know If I have to update to 10.7.5 with the risk of the shutdown problem and sound (again) or my 10.7 is OK to work with it.

Thanks to everybody who is trying to help with guides!!!

Good luck.

Thank you for all!!

I formated and reinstalled lion 10.7 but I download the Lion version of MaciASL and it doesn't work: "MaciASL quit unexpectedly". I dont have the "Allow applications downloaded from:" to "Anywhere"...I read that you can allow in 10.7.5 but when I restart after install the Combo Updater the PC don't recognise my LG monitor. I have to conoct it to my NVIDIA card because the monitor only have VGA and the motherboard only have hdmi and dvI-I. Exist another DSDT/AML IDE compiler? Have I to buy an adapter VGA to DVI? ...upssss...No I'm going to try install CUDA drivers for my NVIDIA and OpenCL from Multibeast...then I'll try to update to 10.7.5...restart and cross my fingers...

Thank you again! If I have luck I tell you!

Probably becuase there is a bad version of iasl in the MaciASL package. It is a common problem as if you use current xcode tools to build iasl, it will create a binary that won't work -- you have to use Snow Leopard tools instead.

You might try with ACPI4 instead of ACPI5 (in MaciASL) prefs, because it switches the compiler in use.

Or try my branch of MaciASL (I'm pretty sure it works on Lion and ML). See: https://code.google.com/p/os-x-maciasl-patchmatic/downloads/list

Thanks again!

MaciASL from your link doesn't work on my 10.7 and when I upload to 10.7.5 my monitor does't work on my NVIDIA. I buy a DVI conector to VGA to put it on the mother card input and nothing happens...perhaps I have to remove the nvidia pci...

Can I do "my way" I told you on my first comment upload to 10.7.5 and try to open MaciASL? If it works I can do your guide but: Have I to erase all the kext that you told me I don't need after this?...
