Hi guys,

I really want to put an internal speaker on my hackintosh- similar to the G5 and its internal speaker.
I had one of these a few years ago and the speaker was pretty good.
Just wondered if anyone knew how I could use this and implement it into my system to use for light music use. When I need better sound I will just connect my monitor to my pc using the sound cable.

Most motherboards still have a pair of pins for connecting a speaker in the header that contains the power switch, reset switch, etc. However, I think this speaker can only produce beeps and such; I don't think there's any way it can be used for music or even system sounds. A speaker would have to be attached to the sound card somehow, but I don't know how one would do that.

I believe he is talking about the speaker that makes the mac start up chime. If you do a g5 case mod, I guess it is possible to put a speaker inside, then to route the speaker cable to the back of the case, plug it in and use it.
