UPDATE: H80 turned out to be faulty, couldn't pass stress testing. Replaced with a good old CM212+

In regards to BIOS versions, F2 looks to be UEFI and F1 is not. F2 has several other newer features but in regards to my system where I'm not overclocking or doing anything out of the ordinary it continually complains about failing to boot and to enter BIOS and check my settings which are fine (my machine is booting fine!!! WTF smart BIOS!?) So I have reverted back to F1. So... I also created a DSDT file for HDMI audio prior to downgrading the BIOS which after flashing back to F1 I can now AirPlay mirror out to my Apple TVs!

Oh! And as a side not I forget to change the Hot Plug settings to off for all my SATA devices which caused all my drives to show up as external with the orange icons. Tried several other fixes before I realized what the problem was.

Exactly the same here!

....except while I was playing in bios I disabled quick boot (just out of curiosity) and it died after saving settings. No reboot, fans on but nil on screen. CMOS cleared and battery removed etc. Dead. No chance to go back to F1.

Gigabyte have a good reputation for fast RMA turnarounds. Its in the post now so fingers crossed for return by the end of next week.
So, with two of us having problems with failure to boot and requesting bios resets etc. This may well be a 'if it isn’t broke don’t fix it' scenario.
Will my replacement board come back with F1 or F2 ??

Probably F1 but if it's F2 and you can't track down F1 I can dump mine for you.

I was also mistaken about F1 being non-UEFI, that isn't the case either version will boot UEFI partitions. F2 just seemed sketchy to me, and I don't run old versions unless there is a good reason.

On a side note, I replaced all my fans with Noctua F12s, running super quiet even with the GTX480 furnance. Although I have noticed video tearing when watching YouTube fullscreen now, I thought it was because of the unsupported card but it seems even our real Mac Pro with a Mac GTX285 at work has the same issue. I tried installing the drivers from Nvidia but they won't install telling me what I have is newer.

No other issues. After flash is installed, I do have "buggy" you tube video, but I am going to try a different kext. The I7 would fit in a mid-tower and be cooled just fine. As far as graphics cards go, I am not sure as I am just running the Intel 4000 graphics built into the i5...love that so far, no complaints. But, I am not a gamer or anything.

i am planning on building a similar system with an i7 3770k and withought extra gfx card.
can you try 1 or 2 steam games for me?
preferrably portal (1) and half life 2?

many regards,

About the internal graphics.

VGA is not working. Right?
DVI and HDMI are working. Right?

DP is working?
Does HDMI has audio?

DVI and HDMI can have different screens?

Or do I need extra settings or kexts?

How should we call this build , Mac Pro 3.1 or iMac13 or...
Thanks

Updated my drivers and what not with Multibeast 5.3.1, No more video tearing with my GTX480 (also loaded the new Nvidia drivers while I was at it but video tearing issue was resolved with the default Apple driver also), USB 3.0 ports are working (haven't tested 3.0 speeds but supposedly that is also working. They're showing up as hi-speed 3.0 ports).

It would seem EVERYTHING is working correctly now. Hopefully I haven't spoken too soon but I'm VERY VERY pleased at the moment.
