Hello,

I just finished my first hackintosh about a week ago. My setup is a Core i7 3770, Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4 TH, 16GB 1600Mhz memory and Gigabyte Radeon 9750 video card. I've installed OSX Mountain Lion with Multibeast and the fbrotate app to aid with the white screen on boot. My Mountain Lion HDD consists of two partitions, 1 FAT partition and 1 GUID partition for ML. This helped me overcome the gibberish text.

My only problems at this point are that my system will not automatically sleep when the timer occurs or will automatically wake from sleep--this isn't my biggest issue however. My current big issue is that I am unable to mount any type of FAT or NTFS partitions/drives. When I format a USB stick as Mac Journaled it works great but when format it as FAT it errors trying to mount. Also, I have two other HDD's in my computer. One with Windows 7 and the other simply for data storage. Both originally NTFS on Windows 7. Neither of which are seen in Mountain Lion. I am able to see them in Disk Management but I am unable to mount the disks and use them.

Somewhere along the line this got tripped up. As I recall while building the system I was able to see them but then when I finally got everything straightened out I realized they are not able to be mounted.

I'm hoping that someone here has possibly run into this before and know's how to fix this.

Thank you all!

Hey, I am having the same problem... everything fine at first, but after having updated to 10.8.3 and then running multibeast, on next boot none of my ntfs or FAT volumes mount, and going into disk utility to force mount them only comes up with an error and suggests I run first aid (disk repair does nothing).

Can anyone help please??

it seems to be a widespread issue; I cannot even read CDs or DVDs although the title/content is showed up in disk utility. I've already opened a thread about this issue here but no one seems able to solve it: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/99146-non-hfs-drives-not-detected-please-help.html

I found this similar thread too: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/93560-osx-10-8-3-problems-ntfs-drives.html
