Not at all, never tried one, but I heard that sometime they can be loud, probably due to air bubbles. Then, being a sailor, I learned that what is not there does not break :) and that prevention is better than cure. In short, I prefer things to be as simple as possible.
Can you please say me what App you use to edit plist?

Hi Giacomo,
good to know I have the same App, but I've some problem following your guide for
GPU Ivy Bridge Power Management. It is in two parts one for hd4000 only and the second one for discrete graphic card. My question is: if I have a graphics card (in my case the same gtx 650 ti you used in this rig) before doing the changes to optimize AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext, should I always perform the steps for "only Hd4000" before, or they are two separates procedure?
Thanks in advance
Ciao
Roberto

HD 4000 graphics Power Management has no influence, its merely academics. Skip that step. What really matters is the next one, to optimize GPU, even if I hadn't enough time to test and fully understand how to check it out! Unfortunately, that pc is now with his owner (my friend DB) so I can't dig on it anymore. Soon I'll probably put my hands on a GTX 670, then it will be an amazing opportunity to learn more (and more!!!).
Stay tuned!

Tested Gigabyte GA Z77X-UD5H with PNY nVidia GTX 670 with great results.
Check it out here, it seems that all iMac agpm config works pretty much well!

first up: great build! i used your guide to configure my new hackint0sh... adding hardware monitoring (as described in BitterMelon's Compact Gaming Hybrid Post)

and the usb3.0 /usb2.0 problem with the side ports of the prodigy only exists with windows-formatted drives... my mac-os extended usb-stick works just fine! kinda weird! i connected the sidepanel via the usb2 adapter to the motherboard, keyboards etc also work just fine

anyone got an idea why ntfs drives aren't recognized?
