I'm having a Bug with my USB3 Controller on my Gigabyte GA X58A UD3R Rev2 with a PCI-E Card PFU3-202I for FrontUSB 3. After Hibernate my i'm getting an Error with onboard USB3 and the PCI-E Card, that my Card was not correct unmounted at the Software "Digitale Bilder (Image Capture.app)" shows the Images on Card for some Seconds and than the Card is again unmounted and some Seconds later again mounted and some seconds later again unmounted and so on....

my other bug: 1st hibernate: working without troubles. USB3 makes trouble. shutdown/restart working without problems.
2nd hibernate: usb3 makes trouble. shutdown/restart not complete. fans are still running. CMOS-Reset.

edit: after deleting GenericUSBXHCI.kext the automatic mount and unmount of the Card at Cardreader at the PCI-E Card PFU3-202I with a Fresco FL1100 chip is gone. but still there after sleep. after plugging of the cardreader and plugging in again ists working. Onboard USB 3 (NEC) not working, but the PCI-E card does.

Anyone having Kernel Panic on boot with LaCie USB3 drives connected or the System hanging when connecting a LaCie USB3 drive?

None of my LaCie Rugged USB3 drives will work with the update. My "WD My Passport" drive work fine.

My System:
Asus P8Z77-V Premium
Intel Core i7-3770K
16GB RAM
2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW 4GB
Mac OSX 10.8.3

Uhm, does MB 5.3 work on X.8.2, too, or do I have to upgrade to X.8.3 first?

My setup is a GA-Z77MX-D3H. Until now I had to chose between "all USB3 ports as USB2 ports" or "only USB3 working". My second problem is that the VIA 2021 does not work 100%. The front headphone jack is there and that's what I need, but the VoodooHDA/audio-system-pref setup is garbled.
Would be cool if MB 5.3 could change that, so I've got some incentive to upgrade.

Awesome work on this Multibeast. I had trouble, but I brought it on myself. Quick recap for people who are noobs all over again because it's been so long since they had to reinstall. (I've been on 10.7.x for 1.5 years - had to relearn all of this.)

* Follow directions on here for making a boot USB with purchased OSX. They're clear and they work.
* Install OSX.
* When you restart, you won't have the bootloader, so hit F12 (Giga - or whatever your MB is) and boot back to USB-HDD. Choose HDD. If you don't, you'll probably see it hang on "Operating system loading." Annoying if you don't know why, but like I said, it's your bootloader.
* Get your Multibeast and pick all the options for your setup. Make sure you get Ethernet addressed because App Store will prolly be eff'd until you get that sorted.
* More on the App Store ... don't forget to delete all network devices in Preferences > Network, and then to delete NetworkPreferences plist.
* Reboot and add network devices back in Preferences > Network. Make sure Ethernet is the first device. If you don't have "Ethernet" as a device to add, go back to Multibeast and make sure you picked an eth driver.

You should be good to go with App Store after all that. If anything is still wonky and you need single user access, try the following boot flag combo: -v -s "PCIRootUID=1 ncpi=0x1000" (or 2000 or 3000 possibly). The first thing you'll see after it boots to console are commands for checking your FS and mounting it in write mode. I can't help you if you're needing to do stuff in SU mode, but google and tonymac can. Good luck!

Thanks to the tonymac crew for putting such a great suite of osx86 tools and info together.

Hi.

I tried the new GenericUSBXHCI.kext from Zenith432, version 1.20d6 (The one included in the 5.3.0 MultiBeast pack)
I'm sorry to report that my USB 3.0 ports work... ONLY ONCE ! ON BOOT When I boot, the drive is recognized. But each time I go to sleep or I unmount any kind of USB Drive on those ports, they break untill the next startup. Impossible to remount a drive on those ports !

I tried with a mouse, a WD My Passport HDD and my UniBeast USB Thumb Drive. To no avail.

I'm on the GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 motherboard (6-series) with a ETRON EJ168 chip.

Anybody has a solution ? Am I alone in the dark with this issue, or are there others out there ?

Thanks,
Clovel

Tony, and the team, thank you so much... :)

I think I've found a bug..........Upon selecting Drivers & Bootloaders>Drivers>System>AppleACPIPlatform Rollback>10.8.1 Rollback it removes the stock AppleACPIPlatform.kext but doesn't put any patched kext in that place.......which results in a kernel panic on reboot

Hello Friends...I have install the FakeSMC Kext and Plugin from previous version (4.6) of MultiBeast. I would like to update those kext and plugin from latest version 5.3. Please suggest me whether i need to delete those kext from /System/Library/Extensions/ and install with MultiBeast or i can just simply install and it will update by default. Thanks!!

here is your solution: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286860-genericusbxhci-usb-30-driver-for-os-x-with-source/

there's a link to download a newer binary (look for: Binaries v1.1.4.)

Used the USB 3.0 updates and it turned all my ports on my Customacs. Thanks to the Genius guys here at tonymac for doing all this wonderful work!
