Intel details HD5000, Iris, and Iris Pro graphics options on Haswell

Here's a great little table from the Intel spec sheet (Embargo lifted May 1st) courtesy of techreport:

According to the article, they're also going to be using embedded DRAM on desktop boards to increase the graphics performance of Iris Pro options.

Let's see how much of that transfer into real-world performance. ;p

Apart from that, AMDs APUs look vastly superior, even in concept to this. Their next-gen processors support GDDR5 as regular RAM, which should vastly improve performance; I guess that's the reason Intel tries to counter the concept with embedded DRAM...which, I think, is not so good, because slotted GDDR5 sound much more interesting... :!:

Second generation of Haswell will need to have to beat that, or maybe Apple will switch over (finally); the better CPU+GPU die is the kinda thing to have for MacBooks, MacMini, etc..

So the future times look really interesting, don't they? :D
