Thx eelhead!

My retired parents liked it so much when mom sat down to try it out, that I'm now doing another one for them. Have to say that of my three mods, I enjoyed this one the most.

Cheers!

Hi Esterhernd, I see by you signature you have upgraded to 10.8.3 I have search the forums and found nothing for the DQ77KB motherboard. Can you confirm it all worked, did you upgrade from App Store, or from a Combo updater? Was there anything you had to re-install (multi beast) afterwards?

I've upgraded to 10.8.3 too. Prior the update, I've copied the patched applehda to the desktop and then reinstalled it with kextbeast.

The only Thing that does not work is trim Support with my SSD.

Yep, audio and trim that's it. Flawless so far.

The 2nd cube I'm doing for my folks was the same.

I just upgraded to 10.8.3 using App Store, and reinstalled audio driver via Multibeast.

For Trim support I used "Chameleon SSD optimizer" - http://chameleon.alessandroboschini.it - which did the trick.

First off, much thanks and appreciation for all of the information and details you've shared. I am in the middle of my first G4 Cube project, and your threads have been extremely helpful.

I am having difficulty ordering the Edisen Touch Sensor. No matter what browser I use, I am not able to add the product to my cart and get an order number. I went ahead and contacted them via [email protected], and they responded with a quote for: 17,50 € for sensor, 8,00 for shipping, and 15,00 for bank charges. Is that the same as what you were charged? I wasn't expecting the 15,00 € additional bank charge, in addition to the $40.00 US for international wire transfer.

Again, I appreciate the help and all of the info - I hope to share my successful build soon!

LoL yeah you've given me a huge amount of direction in this build Mactester!

About the Edisen Touch Sensor. The Company will definitely ship abroad, I'm in Canada and it was no problem. Here's how...

Go online to their site http://www.edisen.de and you'll see the site is in German. I used Chrome to translate it, that REALLY helped. Create an account and go through the Store link, make the purchase of your sensor through the shopping cart. Make a note of the ORDER NUMBER. You'll need it for payment later.

Here's where it gets to be a challenge. They DO NOT accept credit, paypal etc. They want a wire transfer of the amount to their bank account before they will ship. Email [email protected] and inform them that you have purchased, but need an invoice with the shipping amount included. Mine was 8 Euros to ship, for a total cost of 25.50 Euros.

I went back and forth with them a few times over email, but ended up with a successful bank wire transfer done from my branch. Here's the info that your bank will likely require for the transfer.

The Company is:
EDISEN - SENSOR SYSTEME GmbH & CO KG

The Company Address is:
Wilhelm-Pieck-St 33-35
01979 Lauchhammer
Deutschland
Telefon: +49 - (0)35 74 - 28 25
Fax: +49 - (0)35 74 - 28 22

The Bank is:
Sparkasse Niederlausitz

Bank Branch Address:
Geschäftsstelle Lauchhammer-MitteKleinleipischer Str. 5 01979
Lauchhammer Deutschland

Bank Routing Information:
Account: 3020 0073 80
IBAN: DE16 1805 5000 3020 0073 80
Bank code: 1805 5000
BIC: WELADED1OSL

Be advised there can be steep charges for these transfers. I paid 25 dollars just for the service. My total for this transaction (including wire transfer fees) was over 60 dollars CDN. For me though it was worth it because this sensor will provide the authentic functionality that I want to accomplish in this project.

Once the transfer is done, you'll need the record or document from your bank stating its completion. You have to either scan & email or fax this document to Edisen. Once they receive it, they'll ship your goods.

Hope this helps.

Hi Metaldog,

I must apologize, as I never updated that post about the cost. Here's what happened...

Edisen sent my first sensor when they received my emailed money transfer confirmation. However, when they checked with their bank a few days later, they had been charged 15 Euros as a fee for the wire at their end (in addition to the wire fees I paid my bank here). I found this out when I ordered my second sensor for my second Cube build. They said that the previous amount was short by 15 Euros due to the bank wire charge.

I offered to make good on that shortfall for them at the time of my second sensor purchase. They were grateful, as it was an oversight that neither of us had expected. Edisen has been terrific to deal with, no doubt about that.

The cost of your sensor will be about forty Euros plus whatever fees your bank charges you for the wire transfer. They offered me the opportunity to mail them a money draft for the sensor plus shipping only, to save the wire fees, but I didn't want the added delay so chose to pay the full cost.

The third Cube project I did was billed the same as you have recieved: 17.50 Euros + 8.00 Euros Shipping + 15.00 Euros bank fees. The sensor adds about 80 dollars to the cost of the build when its all said and done, but works amazingly well and really is the 'cherry on top' of the entire project.

Ersterhernd -

Thanks for the detailed info. I did in fact notice that all banks I checked charge a fee - usually $15 US - for incoming wire transfers, so I guess I'm not surprised by the double fees for sending and receiving at the other end.

In the original reply I received from Edisen, the gentleman who replied - Roland Neundorf - wrote the following:

We are just about to open a credit card account with our bank.
More and more customers who wish to pay by credit card, which at the time
but is not yet possible.
The process is not so fast and lasts about 3 weeks.

If that is the case, I may just wait another month and see if they get the credit card system up and running. It would save $60, and I'm not in that much of a hurry to get it all wrapped up.

I'm struggling with getting a stable installation of 10.8.3 at the moment - I cannot get sleep and wake properly happening. It takes minutes to wake from sleep, and when it sleeps, the cpu fan continues to run. I am using the patched 048 firmware, with DSDT and SSDT that I patched and compiled with MacIASL. My configuration is very much like your i3-3225 Cubes, except I am using a SATAIII HDD. I have not seen this "delayed wake" behavior before, so I'm at a loss right now. I may start over again and see how I make out.

Thanks again for all your help.

Thats great news about the Credit Card payment at Edisen. Wish it'd been in place already, I could've got 4 or 5 sensors for the price of the 3 I bought when all the bank fees are added up. I don't blame you for waiting.

Sleep on my i3 Cubes caused some issues that I eventually sorted out, but not as you described. Mine were re-waking instantly, it turned out to be EHC1 and EHC2 that needed modding in the DSDT. Sleep on the i7 is causing some grief, too. It works fine, but the Magic Trackpad doesn't reconnect.

All the Cubes boot in 15 seconds anyway, and run so quiet that sleep is hardly worth the hassle. Just my 2 cents...

Cheers!
