Hi everyone.

I am upgrading my workstation quite significantly next week by upgrading my rig to a completely new machine and pretty much everything but the graphics card seem to be hackintosh compatible. The graphics card in question is the Nvidia GTX Titan and since there are no current information rergarding compatility, i wouldn't bank on it being able to work with OSX right now.

As an emergency solution i was thinking about going with two different graphics cards in the same computer, one for Windows 8 and one for OSX. The idea was that my current AMD Radeon HD5770 could take the spot as the OSX gpu in the case of the GTX Titan not working, but i am pretty unsure if this is possible at all and how i would go about making each OS only use the designated GPU.

I am pretty sure i have seen people with a dedicated GPU since their main couldn't run properly with OSX.

Any advice on this issue at hand?

System in question:

Intel i7 3930k
ASUS Sabertooth X79
Kingston HyperX Beast 2400 MHz
GIGABYTE GTX Titan

*bump

I have the same question...does anyone care!!?!!

I used to run a dual GPU setup in my machine (XFX ATI HD 5770 1GB + Gainward Nvidia GTX 570), but they were both used by both OS's so i am not sure about having dedicated GPU's for each machine. Hope this helps a little

I'm curious about this too... Trying to get an x79 machine running with a GTX580 as the primary card, and an ATI 7970 as the secondary card. Get stuck at:
Code:
[ PCI Configuration Begin ]

Tried manually specifying PCIRootUID=0 to establish the GTX580 as the primary card, npci=0x2000 and npci=0x3000.

I'm initially assuming that GraphicsEnabler is the problem. I need GraphicsEnabler=Yes for the GTX580 to work, but perhaps GraphicsEnabler=No for the 7970. Does anyone know if GraphicsEnabler only applies to the card handling GUI? Or does it affect a secondary card too?

This seems to work fine on 10.8.4+. I had a friend build me a custom DSDT to allow me to run this without GraphicsEnabler for a more 'vanilla' system, but it works without the DSDT and with GraphicsEnabler=Yes just fine. I've now got my GTX580 Hydrocopper II 3GB in slot 1, and an MSI Radeon 7970-OC 3GB in slot 2, with the display hooked up to the Radeon 7970. Best of both worlds for Premiere and and After Effects! :)
