GA-Z77-DS3H Sleep/Wake not working at all. [SOLVED]

Hi there

My second hackintosh build and everything is working, just sleep/wake is not working at all. Not even manual sleep.
When put to sleep I think only the HDD is not spinning and black screen. When I try to wake it , it won't wake.
I have to restart the PC. Any suggestions ???

My spec: GA-Z77-DS3H (rev. 1.0)
Intel Core i5 3570K
SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 5770 1GB GDDR5
Maxtor 500GB HDD
Pioneer DVR-S20
BeQuite Pure Power 530W

See my MultiBeast selections and my org.chameleon.Boot.plist
Someone might have better idea what is wrong, why my sleep is not working at all.
Thank you.

Hi

I have tried it without the DVD drive, but no difference.

This motherboard should be the best one, so why sleep/wake doesn't work at all???

Anyone with this motherboard, is your sleep/wake working???

Can someone help I don't know what to try to fix it.

Thanks

I have the same board on two hacks, and sleep works correctly. I do use PleaseSleep, however, and if Spotify is running the machine won't sleep at all.

Hi Perry

Thanks for your reply. What did you select in MultiBeast? What did you change in bios? I am going to try from scratch again.

Could the problem be the HDD and something with sata? My first build was good, I had to use PleaseSleep as well.

Thanks

Very few options in Multibeast, and no DSDT. I'm fairly certain the only option used was to enable the Realtek sound card. I didn't change any BIOS settings other than to set the drive channels to AHCI (though I do overclock). Here's Boot.plist:

<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GeneratePStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>darkwake=0</string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>

And here's smbios.plist:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>SMfamily</key>
<string>Mac Pro</string>
<key>SMproductname</key>
<string>MacPro3,1</string>
<key>SMboardproduct</key>
<string>Mac-F42C88C8</string>
<key>SMserial</key>
<string>G88451235J4</string>
<key>SMbiosversion</key>
<string>MultiBeast.tonymacx86.com</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Remove Graphics Card and start from scratch with onboard graphics.

In BIOS:
Load optimised defaults
Disable Virtualisation
Set SATA mode as AHCI

Install as usual

Multibeast
Check DSDT-Free Installation
Audio> Without DSDT> ALC887 / 888b > v100302 Current
Disk > 3rd Party SATA > TRIM enabler
Misc > FakeSMC Plugins > Motherboard Plugins > HW monitor
Network > Atheros

Pretty sure that's all I did and I have sleep / wake, speedstep etc all working fine. Install your graphics card after etc but try sleep before you install that.

You should leave off TRIM enabler though as you're not using an SSD

Thank you for your replies guys

I have reinstalled Mac OS X ML. (I have left Graphics card in.) Then I have installed OSXUpdCombo10.8.2 update (Asked to restart, I didn't)
Run MuliBeast & Checked:

* DSDT-Free Installation
* Audio> Without DSDT> ALC887 / 888b > v100302 Current
* Customization> System Definitions> Mac Pro 3,1

Network from Multibeast didn't work first time for me so I have installed this one http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=116079
This one works for me.

Restarted, after this done, everything seems to work well. Then I have tried sleep/wake. Manual sleep worked, wake worked only if Require password after sleep or screen saver begins is unchecked. If checked it won't wake. Auto sleep didn't work, only sleep when using PleaseSleep.

Then mustang80 suggested what I should select in MultiBeast.
So I run MultiBeast and checked:

* Disk > 3rd Party SATA
* Misc > FakeSMC Plugins > Motherboard Plugins > HW monitor

Restarted, I have tried sleep/wake and it works. I still have to use PleaseSleep, but it works

Thank you guys
