Been using my system for a few weeks now and I am really happy with it. Today I noticed that quicktime won't play any .mov videos. The video comes up all as just blurry static. I have tried multiple .mov videos with the same result. I have also tried to open the videos in quicktime with the same issue.

Update: Seems to be an issue just with quicktime and itunes as I can view the videos in final cut and iPhoto as well as vlc.

Any solutions?

Hi Guys

I have the same MOBO but i am using the Nvidia GeForce 9500GT. Is the process similar to what's described with the change that I input the GeForce 9500GT String instead of the card mentioned here?

Also do i need to install the multibeast patch and the NVIDIA Drivers or i can skip those steps. The reason i ask is the Nvidia drivers don't seem to be for the 9000 series.

Any help is appreciated. Awesome guide and its really really helpful.

Your card should work with this board. After Unibeast installation you could try installing the Nvidia Fermi OpenCL driver with Multibeast + the Nvidia Mac GEForce drivers > http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-304.00.05f02-driver.html. As to boot into the system with the Nvidia 9500 card installed, you may need to use -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000 OR -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x3000 if there are issues booting in...

I’m stuck.
I have a GTX 660ti 2gb card that I can’t get to work. I’ve been at this for 3 days.


Initially did the combined install with the Intel HD 4000 and got everything running and rebooting normally except for a display resolution error (scrambled image at top 1/3 of screen when ML loaded, fixed this simply by putting computer to sleep and then waking). No big deal since I’m planning on using the GTX 660ti anyways. Bios is 12e. I’m using 10.8.2 and installed the supplemental update. Set GE=No in MultiBeast 6. I did not add the Patched MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0. I did not add any NVIDIA drivers or patches from multibeast either this time.
So when I plug my GPU in and plug in the DVI cable and boot…My display (Dell U2713) is blank. Nothing.


I can hook my DVI cable back to the HD4000 and it works, but I get an “ATHR: unknown Locale: 21” error and I can’t load mountain lion. I can boot in safe mode (-x)



How do I get my display to work with the GTX 660 ti?

Hi guys,

My system works perfectly fine. I have one tiny question:

After Effects sees GTX 660 Ti for CUDA and HD4000 for OpenGL when I connect my monitor to motherboard. Is there any way to make After Effects see GTX 660 Ti for OpenGL as well? (without connecting to GTX directly)

Well, I disabled vt-d in bios and it's working now. The display is completely dark, no bios splash screen, no white apple screen, nothing, then "magically", ML pops up.
However, I do get a bios splash screen hooked to the HD4000.

Weird.

I had that experience too. When you set IGFX in BIOS and plug the monitor to dedicated GPU, it happens.

I FINISH the installation (Multibeast) and when the computer restart,after 5 seconds then computer freezes

Fixed these issues by using the mac pro 5,1 system definition

I'm kind of in the same boat. I've got this board, but I'm running a GTX460 video card. I cannot boot the system without going into safe boot (-x). I assumed that the built-in NVidia driver would work for the 460. There was ONE time the system booted without any options (besides PCIRootUID=0), but I ended up screwing the system up trying to get Messages running and I've been unable to replicate the success. So, for now, I'm booted with the -x option. Any advice?

Try the same commands as I've given, namely -v -x GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x2000 OR -v -x GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x3000 - these should get you somewhere, but you will need to install the Multibeast Fermi OpenCL driver in addition to the GEForce Mac drivers from Nvidia's website. However I have heard the 4xx series has certain recognition issues in ML. Try the updates first and see where they get you...
