@dawsman

How do you get 1800 Mhz out of the vengeance ram?

Do you have the cl9 or cl10?

Which voltage do you run at?

cl9. I didn't change the timing from the standard 9-9-9-24. I did increase the DRAM voltage from 1.5 to 1.55V though.

I've read about Vengeance RAM overclocks as high as 2133 MHz!

Hey guys
I just completed my first build a mere day ago and fortunately all was pretty smooth. Almost everything worked right out of the box. Pretty stoked!
- 4.9Ghz on a GA-Z77X-UP7 mobo
- 18552 (64 bit)
- Cooler Master 212

So far this is a cool, quite, stable machine with more room for tweaking. :headbang:

Nice! What temps are you getting under full load? 90 Celsius or greater?

While running Prime95 I've hit 89c at 85% load. I normally run a 40 multiplier daily. No reason to go any higher unless I'm playing around. :thumbup:

That's the best OC (speed/temp) I've ever seen posted on any message board for a 3770k using a mid range air cooler. Did you delid the processor and/or have a really low ambient? 4.9 sub 90c is usually the realm of 240 AIOs or occasionally top end air coolers.

No delid and around 68* ambient.

Not to create confusion, this was done only at a usable 40 multiplier & 100.05mhz, not 49, which still is pretty dang good. I have yet to push much at 49 or higher simply because at that level it becomes too buggy for daily use. I'm impressed with this setup as it all seems to work so well together.

Ok, curiosity was killing me. I did a 15 minute Prime95 torture and with 100% load at 49 multiplier, temps spiked to 106 max with no crash. o_O Ya, that's enough playing for now.
