those 2 or the card from PB 4530s ?

If you buy AR9285 from HP, this card is working good with 4x30s But... u still need to have a working DSDT to make it work. U now have 2 Options unless u use ur pc with windows(do not forget to register with MS for upgrading to win8)
the options are:
1-wait till someOne comes up with a DSDT that work with your PC.
2-return your pc and get a 4x30s series.

If you can get Macbookpro retina card with less expense than other solution - you can, but it's full-size and you can't in future insert additional WCDMA/HSPA modem. But maybe it's not your point.

I don't know macbook wifi+bt combo card form-factor, but WAN module slot consider full-size mini pcie form-factor, isn't it?

Other way is to edit current EEPROM of AR9485, but i don't knowhow. The final decision will leads into getting fastest and modern mini half-pcie card, that can be used in osx and Windows and linux. Because if i change EEPROM of AR9485 i think i can't use it in windows or linux. Of course if i choose only osx as a main and only one system, i can take decision on that, but we need more flexible solution independent from OS. And wee sometimes need Bluetooth - e.g. for mouse or other things. Ideally it will be combo-card BT+WIFI. FYI - in new macbook pro they use BCM4331 3 × 3 chipset, but i don't know what half mini pci-e card uses same chip.

Sorry dude, this method is little bit complicated, and for sure i don't know howto. U can use this table - https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub...T045WkFrbm56N0JfQVdiSU5jdHc&hl=ru&output=html to search for supported cards. Green rectangles means "supported".

New macbook pro 13 mid 2012 uses combo card, but it's 50 USD - expensive one and haven't standard mini pcie interface.
Anyway you can choose. FYI - earlier macbooks uses separate WIFI and Bluetooth adapters. If you want Bluetooth - u must find connector and place inside you laptop to connect internal Bluetooth card or use external usb bt adapter.

It probably could be, but you'd need to find a dev that knows both Linux and OS X WiFi device drivers, has the hardware to test with, the motivation to make it work, and the (considerable) time to do it.

This is really not a big issue, its VERY easy to change it, there's only 2 screws to remove. I'm waiting delivery of a AR9285G mini pci card I bought on ebay for less than £10 including shipping to the UK. This will take no more than 5 minutes to fit in place of the Intel wifi card fitted to my 4540s. I will keep the Intel one in case I need to get waranty work.
