I've managed to get my HDMI audio working as per the guide (Thanks Toleda!!)

I didn't do enough research when I bought my card and didn't know until now that it won't support bitstream DTS HD and DD TRUE HD. I'm wondering what my options are? It does support LPCM 7.1, but I don't know what that means. I've tried finding out detailed specs but I can't see anything that is clear. The manufacturer claims it will support 16 and 24 bit and 44.1 48 176.4 and 192 kHz, but doesn't specify how. Is it just stereo at 24/192? Can I get 7.1 in 24/96? Has anyone hooked this up to a receiver and put LPCM into it to see what is available?
I'm mostly playing back MKV files. No surround receiver yet, but want to know what I'm looking at here. Most HD audio from blu-rays seems to be 24/48 with a few being 24/96. I'd like to take advantage of this but I'm not sure how to move forward. If the card only does down sampled 16 bit 7.1 then I will have to look at other options. I'm considering running HD audio from the analogue outputs on the back. They seem to be activated in the system. The other option would be to run audio to a receiver from the HDMI on the motherboard, and video from the GPU. Is this possible? In BIOS I have the PCI x16 selected, which seems to preclude the onboard HDMI. Failing that, I may just bite the bullet and get a real card.
One thing that surprised me is that the DVI seems to pass through the audio to HDMI. I can't run direct HDMI as it won't cold boot because of a ROM patch error. I've had this problem for ages and could never solve it so I just run a generic DVI/HDMI adapter to my TV.
Not impressed that this card can't handle bitstream, but I guess it is my tough s*** for not doing more research.
