Well, I you want Oreo, better use Nyan Cat. Black and White ended with MacOS Classic 68K version 6 twenty years ago.

If you compare this, the Amiga already had in 1985 a color multitasking operating system which worked with a 7 MHz 68000 in less than 256K RAM. The Amiga also had preemtive multitasking, MacOS Classic only cooperative, so one faulty task could crash the whole system. I remember emulating a Classic Mac with system 7.5 on my Amiga 4000T/060 with Cybervision 64/3D graphics card in 15 bit with the emulator ShapeShifter. The emulation was faster as a real Mac Quadra with 68040 CPU. It was fast enough to use MacOS and Amiga programs at the same time.
At these times were more operating interesting systems available. GEOS 64 and GEOS 128 also provided an look and feel like Mac classic, since 1988 with color support. And it needed only 1 or 2 MHz, 2x9K of video memory (plus 16 or 64K for the second video chip on the C128) and had ridicilous small amounts of application-useable memory. But it provided support for files with 4 MB size, RAM expansions, RAM disks, later also hard disks, special programs which could be started anytime while another application was working. It also had a kind of multitasking mainloop routine which controlled all events. Massive amounts of fonts and printer drivers were also available, some programs even supported the Apple Laser Writer via serial port. I made a lot with geoPublish, a DTP program with 99K size. Compared to the disk size of 165K this is a lot. Luckily I had the 3,5" floppy 1581 with 790K and a 512K RAM expansion which was used as RAM drive. Later I bought a 8 MHz turbo board with 1 MB RAM which accelerated all programs to 800%, this was great. My old RAM expansion could be added to the turbo boards memory by using an port adapter, so I had 1,5 MB RAM on my C64

That was the first compact Mac to support color. Apple kept designs on the market similar to the original Mac with a B&W display for several years.
Color though had been supported in 1987 since the introduction of the Mac II. Though the Mac II had to have a color video card and display which were very expensive at the time. I can't recall if Apple originally shipped the Mac II with a color video card or not. I do recall some dealers shipping Mac II's without a video card.
I know System 6 supported color in 1988. I think System 4 which shipped with the Mac II in 1987 also supported color but I've never personally worked with it.
