I have this newer version of Probook 4530s. The product number is B5N72UT #ABA I know a lot of people posted about this laptop is most likely not gonna work with hackintosh, especially with bio vers. f28. But I tried. Everything worked fine for me. Took me month to figure out tricks and how to get it to operate. I finally got everything working. Wifi and Bluetooth doesn't work. I never replaced the wifi card because I really don't know what's the best wifi card for mountain lion. I just use the Ethernet. But if you know one, I'd be greatly appreciated if you gave me the ebay link. Because I've done four hours research. There's a lot of doubts and cons. So if yours works, send me the ebay link and I'll be greatly appreciated. But other than that, everything works. Battery icon works. mouse works, even the gestures. AMD Radeon video card works. everything works. Except for fingerprint reader since it's not out for Mac. BUT.. the audio, it's very.. scratchy. VERY scratchy. Like half statics and half bag being crinkled. Any way to fix that? I can't even enjoy my Netflix without this sounds making my ears bleed! :(

If you follow the sticky guide in the ML forum you should have no troubles (with audio). As you state, you need to replace the WiFi card if you don't have Atheros. You can also check the FAQ in the ML forum as well for model #s and other information.

One clarification, Radeon card does not work on this laptop in OS X. In OS X, we are using only Intel HD3000. You disable it to do the install, then re-enable it for use in Windows only post-install.

okay, I will check that about the wifi and the audio. And for the Radeon, it works perfectly fine. My laptop recognized it after installing Mac OS X Mountain Lion. I didn't have to install or anything to get the graphic working. One time when I installed the DSDT, it indeed did mess up my graphic driver. Made it incompatible. But without installing DSDT, my laptop ran just fine with Radeon. Yes, I was able to change resolution without problem. Watched movies, videos, screen saver, etc without any problem. Transparency works just fine. The effects works fine. Nothing lags at all. Not even a bit. It runs perfect. I was surprised how Mountain Lion was able to recognize Radeon. I'm serious, it works if you don't install DSDT or anything related to graphic. When you do, it will make it incompatible. I took a screenshot to show that it works fine. 47472_4188077073288_1231541404_n.jpg

Go into About This Mac (choose from Apple menu in upper left corner). Then "More Info"... What do you see for "Graphics" ??

I told you, in the info and the graphic shows it as Intel HD 3000 installed. I don't know why it shows that when my laptop runs with Radeon graphic. But hey, if it works, I'm not complaining. But I'm here for the audio problems. I still tried everything for the audio and it still makes this weird noises. :(

Well, you didn't tell me anything in this thread about your "info and the graphic" showing Intel HD 3000. You can search the thread for "3000" if you like, and the only references will be mine... trying to convince you that your laptop is not using Radeon graphics on OS X.

Yes, all the transparencies, video playing, animations work. They all work using the Intel HD3K. Your "About This Mac" is showing you HD 3000 because that is the video display drivers which are loaded and providing the graphics you are looking at.

If you want to believe that you are using Radeon on OS X just because your laptop has it, that is your prerogative. But it doesn't make it true. And it is a disservice to other people considering this laptop to run OS X, since if they purchase one with Radeon, under OS X, it will only use the Intel HD 3000. It is not right to mislead people with incorrect information.

But I'm here for the audio problems. I still tried everything for the audio and it still makes this weird noises. :(

Have you tried a fresh install using the latest installer? I hope you're not using VoodooHDA.kext?? Because that would certainly explain it. If you are, remove it, install the patched AppleHDA.kext from the latest Probook Installer, repair permissions & rebuild cache, then reboot.

Because I haven't heard of anyone else having difficulty with audio using the patched AppleHDA.kext...

yeah, because I have the newer model of HP Probook 4530s. Every time I tried to patch that, my audio disappear. There was one audio kext that worked. Only that kext worked. However, it makes garbled/static noises. But the other kexts available makes my audio drivers disappear. Believe me, I've reinstalled Mac OS X more than 80 times. I've been experimenting a lot to figure things out and make things work. The only thing I'm struggling is webcam and audio. But the wifi, I got the details about it. So I'm going to be ordering a new wifi card that's supposed to work for Mac OS X. For the webcam, it won't load. unless I install the kext call universalusb something? I don't remember. It's been a long time. So webcam worked great with that patch. except the webcam is dark, which is a common glitch for everyone. So I'm not going to worry about that. HOWEVER.. when I install that kext to get the webcam working, every time I try to install something on my laptop, it immediately fails. So I didn't like that patch.

You should really consider doing a fresh install following the sticky guide at the top of this forum, or for ML the sticky guide at the top of that forum. It sounds like you've tried a lot of stuff, but really you should start with something that is tested and proven.
