Have anyone experienced any issues with the front USB ports, on the UP5-TH? I can't get them to work, I've tried to install the kexts in Multibeast and it caused my computer to freeze on startup. I'm reinstalling OSX now and I'll continue to seek for informations about my problem.

Edit: I just saw your answer. I'm new to this so... Where can I find my hardware BIOS version?

Thanks!

My front USB3 jacks work great. They're going into a usb3 header on the left hand side of the board nearest the other front button headers.

Without any USB3.0 third party kexts?

That's odd. I don't use USB 3 for anything besides testing if it works with a USB card reader so I can't say.

must look into it more and it was a write to usb3 harddrive with macbook pro and read with the front usb 3 on the up5
almost twice as fast writing (still miles faster than usb2 but thats not the point)

Try blackmagic's speed test

Sorry about that. Fixed the guide.

Hey Alfa, looks like that update fixed the Aperture Loupe issue, at least from what I can see. Thanks again for the help.

How did u get fusion drive to work? Do u have a website?

A number of things. First is, you need to be aware of compatible equipment for Fusion Drive on Hackintosh. As far as I know certain SSDs/HDs like Intel's 520 SSD did not work with this board because of poor chip encryption - Intel reported back in July of problems with their SF2281 Sandforce chip in the 520. So I replaced it with an OCZ Agility 3 and the HD Hitachi/Toshiba - I found both works on this motherboard. Third is BIOS settings - you need to turn off VT-d, Intel Rapid Share, Intel Smart Connect, keep the settings to AHCI and enable XHCI and EHCI hand-off. Fourth is cloning to FD from a full 10.8.2 OSX installation. Hopefully I will be doing a guide soon on how to do this…

FYI there's a new update from Apple for the 2012 Macbook Air and Macbook Pro just to fix this very issue (USB), which I believe should cure your problem. You can find it here > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1609
