Just curious, please don't but would you guys ever get bored of hackintosh and quit the project?

Sounds a bit stupid, just a bit of curiosity.

Right now the useability of Mac OS X, it's integration with the iPhone, and the fact that you can get a screaming fast Mac Pro equivalent for a fraction of the price makes it a no-brainer.

But if Apple makes it harder to make a fully functioning Hackintosh, it might not be worth the trouble for future OSes. There's talk in the future that Apple might not even use Intel processors anymore and use in-house CPUs, which I would imagine would make a Hackintosh REALLY HARD to build:

I can think of only two scenarios where that would happen:

1) Apple switches to ARM processors in their desktops and OS X cant be hacked onto Android/WinRT/Other Arm platforms. I'd switch to Linux.

2) Microsoft wises up and pushes an update that completely removes Metro from Win8, or completely drops it for Win9. I'll CONSIDER switching back, but it would be far from guaranteed.

At the end of the day, as long as OS X remains an easily accessible UNIX OS with wide commercial software support that runs on generic hardware, I'll stick with it unless a better option shows itself.

if this does happen id love to see a android/chrome os project I love anything Linux/unix based

I will never abandon the tonymacx86/hackintosh project.

Thank God! :D

As for me, I'll NEVER abandon the hackintosh. I SO loving being able to have the system that I want down to the screws. I also love being able to simply restart into Windows and play games with high settings. My hackintosh has been the best computer/Mac that I've never owned!

I finally got a working Hackintosh setup about a month ago. I have always wanted to setup a Hackintosh even way back when Apple used PowerPC processors and it was pretty much impossible like it might be in the future. Just like I tried back then I will still try even if it is impossible in the future.
