You're doing it wrong. It appears to me that you've replaced your icon with the incorrect file type.

I have a question...

I followed the steps in this great tutorial to change the display image. My dual display setup shows the same picture for both displays, but they are not the same. Is it possible to use a different picture for each display?

Preview converted it to PNG which is right I thought ?

No! read the directions closer and use the program called img2icns to covert the png file to a icn file. Slow down and go step by step.

I believe I saw Display strings in therre but you'd have to find the images for the screens and replace those as the computer images were replaced, but I did not see instructions for that. Maybe the original poster can tell you where they are buried.

This is the next issue I'm trying to solve. Different display images. In theory there should be a way to make your mac think the 2nd display is an Apple 24 inch LED Monitor and then replace that image with your new monitor. But at this point I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Anybody else have any ideas that would be great. Good news is that I have tomorrow and Friday Plus this weekend off so I'll be trying to figure this out. I will keep you guys updated. Thanks

Sorry I probably didn't explain explain it properly , I did follow the instructions but when it come to the img2icn I tried to send my new png to CoreTypes.Bundle and it was blanked out ( Like I couldn't open it ) So I manually dropped it in place.
Obviously that's where I'm going wrong but can't figure it out ! I have all permissions set to Read/Write , I just don't get it.

EDIT Solved !! I had a blonde moment , I didn't realize I was supposed to save the icn to the desktop then move it to coresystems lol sorry guys !
