I have pretty much the same build but I am using the marvel ports and don't have an issue with sleep or anything for that matter. I also tried the Darkwake=No thing and it seemed to fix auto sleep.

Yeah, I might have made a few changes in the BIOS since I disabled the Marvell ports that actually fixed my sleep issues. I'm not using them anyway, so I figured might as well disable them. If I ever need em again, I'll do some more testing.

Finally I would like to thank the entire tonymacx86 community for all of the documentation and guides. Without them none of this would have been possible![/QUOTE]

Thank you so much!! I have spent the weekend working on my 2nd hackintosh build (for my husband) and I felt like I was the only one with a 3770 instead of a 3770K and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. This guide did the trick! Thank you CoBrA!

Hi everyone, I'm attempting to make the same build without the GTX 670 card and wifi. so my questions:

1. how's the onboard HD4000 video card?
2. wired-ethernet is properly working i guess (saw in first page it was tested for 5 minutes)

p.s.

I'm about to hit "buy now" from the online store, lol.

I only saw the HD4000 video work in 1024x768 and I wasn't able to change it. Since I knew I was adding a video card I didn't try to get it working any better since it was only during the install process that I was using it.

thanks for your reply. now i really have to consider buying that video card. (unless somebody comes up that says they were able to rack it up to higher res with HD4000)

Thanks for the kind words! I don't think the 3770 vs the 3770k made a huge difference, but I knew I wouldn't ever be overclocking, so I decided I'd save $20 :)

There are people on this board that have definitely gotten HD4000 working perfectly with this board (see the post above). My guide just doesn't cover that, because I'll probably never use it. I'd suggest taking a look at another thread for a tutorial on getting that working. It's probably just as easy as installing a kext.

I've had a very similar build as the OP, starting with HD4000, then add the Gigabyte GTX-670 and re-installed all over again:

1. The on-board HD4000 worked normally and I could change its resolution to match the highest solution of my monitor used for installation.
2. Both wired-ethernet ports worked normally.

Now, these are my problems and any help will be greatly appreciated:

a/. I have to use the Marvel ports (actually I've had a BD burner, 2 SSDs for OSes, 3 HDDs: 1TB exFAT, 2TB and 3TB NTFS) so auto-sleep not working in both OS X and Windows 7! Manual sleep and wake normally in both OSes.
b/. Tried using HDMI out: perfect in Windows, perfect video in OS X but without audio. I hesitated to tweak it myself, at least for now.
c/. OS X DVD player not working "a valid drive could not be found. Error ...". This seems to be a common problem?
d/. I am planning to get the Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad, then which is the most reliable bluetooth dongle and can work OOB? Is the Rocketfish Micro Bluetooth USB Adapter (RF-MRBTAD) the correct choice? Right now, I've used the wireless Logitech K400 keyboard with trackpad and it worked OOB during BIOS and in both OSes.

TIA.
a. Not sure if I can help ya with the auto sleep. I took the easy way out and just disabled the Marvell ports entirely.
b. Again I'm using just the dual DVI ports on my video card, I'm not utilizing the HDMI port at all. I did test it in Windows once before to see if it worked (it did) but I haven't tried it in OSX.
c. Hmm I'll have to try the OSX DVD player. I haven't tried it yet...
d. This is something else I haven't looked into. I currently don't have bluetooth, but it might be a nice addition in case I would like to add bluetooth devices. Sadly I can't help you here, but when you find out which one to get, report back and let us know which worked best. I'd be curious to hear. Right now I'm using both a wired keyboard and mouse.

Note: follow the order of installation as stated above. Here is a picture with all customizations as reference:

I don't think you'll need the graphics card modifications since you don't have at least a 670. Why don't you give it a try and let us know!

Hi CoBrA, thanks so much for replying............will try it out and let u guyz know ;) ::::::::::::::::hope it works for me........
