[GUIDE 4530s] Lion --> Mountain Lion Upgrade Method - WiFi, Bluetooth, more!

Thanks for this guide. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on upgrading. I have the 4530s and running 10.7.4/dual boot windows 7 with no issues and have been for awhile. I purchased the 10.8.2 upgrade and made the bootable usb. I followed the guide to install and have attempted it a few times but everytime it finishes it reboots and gives me a kp and I am unable to get it to boot into safe mode to repair. Each time I have ended up reinstalling via time machine. I have attempted this 4 times and honestly don't know what is going on. Can anyone maybe give me some insight or suggestions please as to what I could be doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Try this installer + guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/63348-hp-probook-installer-4-1b1.html

And don't use AHCI patch in it (if you need it). Use the one from Insanely Mac instead: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...n-kernel-cache-used-only-with-some-disks-fix/

Thanks RehabMan. I'll try these steps and see if I can get it going.

Well I have tried some more but still no luck. I am posting a screenshot of the KP to see if anyone might be able to take a look and give me some insight into what to do.

Couple of things to check/verify:

- did you do a clean install? not an install over top of the previous partition, but re-partition or at least erase previous partition before installing.
- did you select the correct SSDT for your CPU?
- did you select the 10.8.1 OS X version (this gives you patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext)

RehabMan, I have almost the same problem:
I have installed Mountain Lion 10.8.0 using Unibeast and the Probook Installer.
Everything work good except sometimes the dvd drive and the bluetooth.
To install properly Mountain Lion, I downgraded the bios from F23 to F20.
Sometimes, when I power on the PC, it give me a kernel panic. Not everytime, but occasionally.
I have noticed that to temporarily solve the problem, I have to reset the bios settings to default, and the PC boot fine again.
Any solutions or advice to fix it?

P.S. When a new version of the ProBook Installer will come out?
I wish to download and install directly the 10.8.2 Mountain Lion version.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried patching your own DSDT?

There will not be a new Probook installer until someone has the time to create one.

RehabMan I just want to tell you that you are the best. Every post that you wrote, is a funtional solution for our problems!
can you guide me to create my own dsdt and ssdt, please?
and the best way to update safely to 10.8.2?
I admire you! Thank you very much!

No need to create your own SSDT as I already created them for all our CPUs and they are in tegezee's ProBook installer.

But for DSDT, see this: https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-ProBook-4x30s-DSDT-Patch/wiki/How-to-patch-your-DSDT

Download the ZIP with the patches: https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-ProBook-4x30s-DSDT-Patch

Thanks! I will take a look!
Can you help me with this other things, please?

Sometimes, it recognize my dvd drive and sometimes no.
When I connect my magic mouse, sometimes it lose the bluetooth signal.
In the system info, sometimes it shows my cpu correctly (2.5ghz) and sometimes no (800mhz).
Thanks a lot!
