Holy cash cow: Samsung ordered to pay Apple $1.05 Billion for patten violations

the US court jury has ruled.
 
I read somewhere about patents and violations, that made a lot of sense.

Basically if a company patents something they get this "window" to market and make their money off it before other competitors can use the technology, design, or whatever.
But what's happening is some things are just too ground breaking, and if a company thinks they have enough pull to knowingly break a patent, they will go for it, knowing they will make enough to profit and also pay the possible violation. I'll bet Samsung planned for this day since day one.
