Hi.

After I upgraded to 10.8.2 I lost audio as I expected. I have installed the ALC887 from the Multibeast 5.0.2 and it works now, but I only get digital output meaning I can hear sound trough my USB headphones but analogue "line-out" is not showing for my speakers.

I had this problem when I installed Mountain Lion in the first place, and I got it to work somehow but I forgot where I found the solution, been searching for it 2 days now and no luck.

If someone knows how to deal with this please respond, I will post a solution if I find it myself.

Thanks,

-Dino

Remove AppleHDA and HDAEnabler887 in S/L/E and reinstall the audio kext from multibeast and reboot.

I already tried the exact thing but no luck.

Now I removed AppleHDA and HDAEnabler and rebooted without installing any kexts, and somehow USB audio still works. (no line-out). I guess something else is required. My audio codec is ALC887, dont really know what else to try, voodoo kexts dont work for me also.

Thanks for the reply.

I cant attach it. keep saying its an "invalid file". :(

I'm also on 10.8.2 and this worked for me:

remove appleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext in /S/L/E

use Multibeast 4.6.1 (for Lion)

do not select easybeast install or UserDSDT install

Select

ALC887/888b from /Audio/Realtek ALCxx/Non-DSDT HDAEnabler

and

ALC888b/887 from /Audio/Realtek ALCxx/Patched AppleHDA

reboot.

hope this helps.

Thanks to the tonymacx86 community, I have a fully working hackintosh.

Without AppleHDA.kext installed, audio does not show in your IOReg. Run MultiBeast 5.0.2/Audio/Realtek ALC8xx/Without DSDT/ALC887Legacy. Reply with a new IOReg.

I just did and it fixed it, fully working now. I was doing the same thing but always went with the "current version", I guess legacy is the way to go.

Thanks a lot!
