hi :)
i finaly decided to test osx on a pc and used the most simple method i found... unibeast!
so here's my situation :
acer aspire 5750G
Intel Core i5-2430M @2.50GHz (tubo boost up to 3.0Ghz)
4gb of ram
500gb hard drive (sata)
Nvidia GeForce GT540M (2gb memory)
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
usb 2.0 & 3.0
so :
i created a usb stick of mountain lion and checked the "laptop support"
i succefully installed mountain lion
and i found this kext pack : http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2004&page=2
i run multibeast, check user DSDT (i placed the dsdt.aml on the desktop)
and some other options, then, i put all the kexts included in the pack on the desktop and run kextbeast
the install finishes well BUT, i got a kernel panic (with the "shut down your mac" message etc etc...)
when i reboot, i get a "boot0 error"
so i connect my usb stick and boot from it
then, mac os x mountain lion doesn't boot... it freezes on the wheel...
can you please help me guys ? :)

For You problem boot0 Error

Download Chamaleon i386
View attachment Enoch-i386-2060.zip

1. open the folder i386 and copy boot1h for your USBInstaller.
2. boot from USBinstaller and go for utilities and open app Terminal
3. type diskutil list for identified your disk and partition were you installed of system ML = ex: disk0s2
4. type diskutil unmount disk0s2
5. type cd /Volumes/"Name Usb"
6. type dd if=boot1h of=/dev/diskXsY bs=4096
7. reboot

Sorry But Nvidia GT 540 M It don't work with Mountain Lion

thanks a lot for your help :))

i did a big mistake :p
the kext pack i used only works on a mac os x Lion hackintosh..

with mountain lion, you can only make sound work !
no wifi or ethernet, no battery (there's a battery icon in the menu bar but there's an X on it... no %...)

anyway; i'll tell you if it worked or not :)

thanks again !!

(sorry if my english is so so, i'm tunisian :p )

I am Italian.
If you can run your video card tell me

I got the battery to work, but i still have no WIFI and it kernel panics after installing the modified kexts for power management.

Well, I'm glad we have a thread about this laptop again. (The previous one got deleted)
I got the battery to work, but i still have no WIFI and it kernel panics after installing the modified kexts for power management.

For wifi you can edit your DSDT, for power management you gotta either use NullCPUPowermanagement (which means no turboboost) or a modded BIOS.
My internet connection has problems right now but I'm gonna post a complete set of files ASAP.

actually, there's a guy who succeded in activating the 540m... here's the link :) http://www.osx86.net/notebooks/16462-diary-maconizing-my-acer-aspire-5750g-end.html

now my laptop is running Lion but when i'm going to create my account, it shows me that there's no keyboard detected... even if i connect another keyboard in usb...

Yeah it would be awesome :D
thanks a lot!!!!

my wifi card is a broadcom one. will it be detected and work ?

we defenitly should publish a complete tutorial for this laptop... :p

OK so i have :

Acer aspire 5750G running Mac os x Mountain Lion with :

keyboard
mouse
sound
Usb 2.0
battery

now, i'm trying to get wifi or ethernet working (wich isn't a piece of cake... i installed some kexts for that, i rebooted, got a kernel panic, rebooted again, kernel panic again, tried safe mode... then, i deleted the kexts i added from my snow leopard partition, rebooted on mountain lion, and there was no mouse/keyboard (no cursor too)

can somebody give me the kexts for the wifi card of my acer aspire 5750g ?

(i'll post a link for the kext pack i used this time if there's somebody interested)

thanks !!

Hi guys and gals!

This is a complete guide to get your adventurous AA 5750G up and running with it's new Apple made clothes.
***USE THIS COMPLETELY AT YOUR OWN RISK, IF YOU BLOW UP YOUR WHOLE TOWN NEITHER ME NOR ANYONE ELSE BUT YOU IS RESPONSIBLE***.

----------------------
----------------------
Things that work:
- Wi-Fi : Atheros 9285 --> Using DSDT
- Ethernet : Broadcom BCM57785 --> Using kext
- Sound and built-in mic : Realtek ALC269 --> Using kext (No sound through HDMI)
- Touchpad and Keyboard : Synaptics --> Using kext (Gestures up to two fingers) | Elan --> Using this kext (not included in my package) (Gestures up to four fingers)
- Brightness control --> Using DSDT
- Web Cam --> Works natively
- Card Reader --> Works natively
- Sleep --> Using kext or modded BIOS
- Integrated GPU and HDMI-out : Intel HD3000 --> Works natively (obviously)
-------------------------------------------------------
Things that doesn't work and known issues:
- Bluetooth (Atheros AR3011 0489:E02C) (Maybe I'm doing something wrong, even when I change pid and vid in this kext, the kext doesn't load at startup; And if I use kextload, it shows up in "More info..." but still no Bluetooth)
- VGA out (Since there is no VGA output on any real Mac, it's not possible. Solution? Just go digital and use HDMI.)
- Sound through HDMI (It IS possible to get it working, take a look at this thread)
- With no battery installed, the system says "Power source: Battery", ignorable though. (There is a thread about this over HP Probook section which offers a solution, but it's kinda hard for an amateur like me!)
-------------------------------------------------------
Things that work partially:
- USB 3 : Renesas µPD720200 --> Can be enabled by GenericUSBXHCI.kext included in Multibeast; BUT it breaks sleep.
----------------------
----------------------

First of all, go to your BIOS setup and disable the discrete GPU (select integrated), then go ahead and install ML, You don't need any boot flags or anything, just do a simple install. If you don't know how, use this guide (first three steps, don't use Multibeast); And for God's sake, please don't use distros, aside from being illegal, they are incredibly hard to fix.

* If you want to enter your Apple ID in ML's first boot, you'll need WiFi; And to have WiFi you need DSDT. So Before you install the OS and AFTER you partitioned your HDD as you desire, open terminal and using cp command copy the DSDT.aml to your HDD. For example if you want to install OS X on a partition called "OSX" and you have the DSDT on a partition called "UNIBEAST" it would be:
Code:
cd /Volumes/OSX
mkdir /Extra
cp /Volumes/UNIBEAST/DSDT.aml /Volumes/OSX/Extra

If you don't have the latest OS X release (10.8.3) go ahead and install it, reboot. (You don't have a bootloader yet, use Unibeast USB Stick again)

Now we are going to install kexts to make everything working.
BUT, you have two options:

1. Using the original BIOS

If you choose this you will NEED NullCpuPowerManagement.kext, which breaks sleep, so you have to use SleepEnabler.kext to enable it back.
Biggest disadvantage is that you will lose TurboBoost (TurboBoost technology is only available on i5 and i7 CPUs, i3 CPUs don't have it).

If you want to go with your untouched BIOS, install all the kexts that i've attached using kextutility or similar software, install latest FakeSMC (link), install a bootloder (Chameleon/Chimera, available on osx86.net) and finally configure your boot options and SMBios.plist using Chameleon wizard or similar software. (MacBookPro 8,1)

2. Using a modded BIOS (which is made by akbar102):

This way your hackintosh can use vanilla AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, thus you will have TurboBoost (means ~1000 points increase in geekbench score) and sleep works natively. Besides, this BIOS is unlocked and you can use advanced features like UEFI booting. Just keep in mind that if you choose this method, you will NEED propper SSDT (which is included in the package), otherwise you'll get kernel panic.

If you want to go with modded BIOS (AT YOUR OWN RISK), first find your SSDT.aml from the attached file and copy it to the "Extra" folder on your HDD.
Then install modded BIOS either using Windows or copy P5WE0x64.fd on a USB stick, attach it to your laptop, turn it off, hold fn+esc and turn it back on.
Now boot into OS X, Then go ahead and install the kexts I provided using kextutility or similar software EXCEPT for NullCPUPowerManagement AND SleepEnabler, install latest FakeSMC (link), install a bootloder (Chameleon/Chimera, available on osx86.net) and finally configure your boot options and SMBios.plist using Chameleon wizard or similar software. (MacBookPro 8,1)

Finally, fix boot0 error (google it) and boot into OS X using the bootloader on your HDD.

Have fun!!

good news, and bad news :p

the dsdt finally worked for me!
but i still don't have wi-fi ._. BUT, i have ethernet !
and i lost sound...

but all the other kexts work !

did you create this DSDT or did you download it somewhere ?
if you created it, can you help me to create a DSDT alone ?
