Article: OS X 10.8.2 Update

LOST audio on Z77-DS3H and Ivy CPU. Everything else appears to be ok. Booted fine, and geek bench at 10,000 after update. (32 bit)

UPDATE: To get audio back on Z77-DS3H simply run multibeast and ONLY select ALC887/888B **CURRENT! Restart and then go into sound settings. Double click "Internal Speakers - Built In" under the output tab. Bingo AUDIO!

I am getting the spinning wheel under the gray apple logo start up screen. Using UniBeast I am able to boot in the safe mode, but do not know what to change to fix the problem so I can get a normal boot.

Core i7 3770k
8GB DDR3 1600 MHZ
GTX 550Ti Graphics Card

::::FOR EVERYBODY::::

THIS METHOD HAS WORKED THROUGH ALL THE 10.8.2 BETAS AND WORKS 100% NOW

THIS FIXES THE OemSMBIOS PROBLEM WITHOUT HAVING TO DELETE IT FROM FAKESMC.kext

THIS MEANS YOU WON'T LOOSE YOUR SYSTEM DEFINITION AND SERIAL NUMBER WHICH WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH SOME APPLE SOFTWARE AND ACTIVATED 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE.

IF YOU HAVE CONSTANT SPINNING WHEEL OR ARE RECEIVING ERRORS ABOUT OemSMBIOS.kext THIS WILL LIKELY FIX IT.

Great~ Thank you.
It fix all my issue on GA-Z77X-UP4 TH/ i7-3770/ AMD Radeon HD 6780。
Now I don't need to remove OemSMBIOS.kext and I can turn VT-d ON in BIOS setting. Everything works well as before after update to 10.8.2.

For me this works as well, i just installed the combo update. When the update was done, (before rebooting) i used kextbeast with this AppleACPIPlatform.kext and did a system repair with Multibeast Lion edition. After this i reinstalled the Realtek 889 audio driver with the Multibeast Mountain Lion edition and rebooted my system without any other modifications without any problems! (have to reinstall my other hackintosh because of stupid store update without reading the post (RTFM?:p) but its not my priority hack, so that would be a reinstall....

Core i5 2500k
Radeon HD6850

Mine doesn't boot. It just keeps spinning with the apple logo and the white screen. I use GraphicsEnabler=no, but my keyboard dont work in MultiBeast boot (but it works in Bios).

What to do?

did you try -x option?

Ok, removed the oemSMBIOS.kext, which was not in the Fake thing but just in the directory. Rebooted. Works. Did multibeast, which was a little different for the mountain lion version but I picked The 889 with dsdt and we are happening again.

Question though, should I also enable fakesmc plugins like motherboard plugins and hwmonitor?
