OS X 10.8.2 Update

SUCCESS: GAZ77X-UP4TH, i7 3770K, BIOS F7, MSI GTX670, SSD

delta update 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 on SSD OS DISK, reboot, + multibeast Realtek ALC892

I managed to install the update and after that could only boot in to safe mode.
In safe mode re-installed audio kext with multibeast and removed OemSMBIOS.kext.
Everything seems to be working, only geekbech score dropped from 11,800 to 11,000.

I tried this on two hard drive installations for a GA-Z77X-UD3H with i5-3570k (integrated HD4000 graphics).
On the first installation which had originally been installed with 10.8.0 and Unibeast and was later upgraded to 10.8.1 before this 10.8.2 update (combo installer), there was the same problem with OemSmbios.kext that others are reporting.

On the second one which had originally been installed with a 10.8.1 installer and Unibeast (using the same Multibeast 5.02 settings), everything went fine.

So maybe the OemSmbios.kext problem only occurs for installations that were originally 10.8.0 and those with a clean 10.8.1 aren't problematic ?

You should download the edited AppleACPIPlatform.kext from my previous post boot up with -f -x put it on the desktop with Kextbeast and run it then reboot with -f.

::::FOR EVERYBODY::::

THIS METHOD HAS WORKED THROUGH ALL THE 10.8.2 BETAS AND WORKS 100% NOW

THIS FIXES THE OemSMBIOS PROBLEM WITHOUT HAVING TO DELETE IT FROM FAKESMC.kext

THIS MEANS YOU WON'T LOOSE YOUR SYSTEM DEFINITION AND SERIAL NUMBER WHICH WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH SOME APPLE SOFTWARE AND ACTIVATED 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE.

IF YOU HAVE CONSTANT SPINNING WHEEL OR ARE RECEIVING ERRORS ABOUT OemSMBIOS.kext THIS WILL LIKELY FIX IT.

Great~ Thank you.
It fix all my issue on GA-Z77X-UP4 TH/ i7-3770/ AMD Radeon HD 6780。
Now I don't need to remove OemSMBIOS.kext and I can turn VT-d ON in BIOS setting. Everything works well as before after update to 10.8.2.

About the VT-D Setting. It is kind of strange, that some need to disable this feature in their bios. I have a Z77X-UD5H and I have no problems regarding the VT-D Feature.

Also this feature is very useful, when working with vmware or parallels.

I have a GA-Z68XP-UD3 MB. I update to 10.8.2. And is up and running. But audio, does any body have the same MB that can tell me wish driver on multibeast to choose, thanks. That's all I need

Use
Realtek ALC8xx -> With DSDT -> ALC889
If your using a DSDT install (IE Normal BIOS)

or
Realtek ALC8xx -> Without DSDT -> ALC889
If your not using a DSDT (EFI BIOS)

Installed by downloading from Apple - booted up no problems at all. Just reinstalled audio drivers

Intel I5 2500K
Gigabyte GTX 680
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3
