GA-Z77X-UP5 TH - Need to roll back AppleACPIPlatform.kext, others wise everything seems fine so far !

Just updated with combo update, no issue.

Typical boot failture after 10.8.2. update troubleshooting.

Boot in to safe mode (-x), your system should boot this way if you're having this crash
Open Terminal, and type "sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext/Contents/PlugIns/OemSMBIOS.kext /Users/youraccountname/" (replacing youraccountname with the appropriate account name )
Still in Terminal, type "sudo diskutil repairpermissions /" followed by "sudo kextcache -system-caches" (or repair permissions and update kext caches in any other way you prefer)
Reboot.

For Radeon 6xxx users.
-x
- We see a white screen. Turn sleep mode, wake up.
- Move OemSMBIOS.kext as above
- Profit!

How to restore the sound, see the upper thread.

Im having the same problem as others here. Keep spinning at apple's logo.

Article: OS X 10.8.2 Update

The kernel cache is always automatically recreated whenever a file is changed in /System/Library/Extensions/

for all users who installed FakeSMC plugins (org.navi.OemSMBIOS), you can boot in Safe Mode (-s) and remove the kext there. Nothing else is affected by this, it's merely an extra.

For those of you, who has KP related to OemSmbios.kext, here's a little workaround:
Kext located within /System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext/Contents/PlugIns/
So boot with -x -s, remove this kext
Works fine so far
Thanx man that worked,i thought it wont boot because i updated trough Software Update.
!!!!! WHOAAAA !!!! I can't believe it:this update finally fixed the well-known USB Keyboard/Mice timeout issue on system wake! (at least for me).
