Im looking to build a snow leopard hackintosh that i can later update to lion/mountain lion. I've decided on the following:

Intel CPU Core i7 2600K Unlocked http://www.scan.co.uk/products/inte...-34ghz-hd3000-igp-850mhz-8mb-cache-95w-retail

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P Z68 Socket 1155 Motherboard http://www.scan.co.uk/products/giga...155-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-raid-sata-pcie-30-atx

Corsair Memory Vengeance Low Profile Black 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz (4x4GB) http://www.scan.co.uk/products/16gb...pc3-12800-(1600)-non-ecc-cas-9-9-9-24-xmp-15v

24x DVD Writer Sony AD-5280S-0B http://www.scan.co.uk/products/sony-ad-5280s-0b-24x-dvdr-12xdvddl-dvdplusrw-x8-rwx6-sata-black-oem

Im having difficulty deciding what graphics card would be a good option. I will be using it only as a DAW so i only need something basic, but with the option of 2 displays and also working with lion if i decide to upgrade. As this is my 1st hackintosh i also want a card that will work without alot of effort.
Would a EVGA 512MB GeForce G210 GDDR3 NVIDIA Graphics Card - 512-P3-1311-KR do the job? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/512m...r-1230mhz-16-cores-d-sub-dual-link-dvi-i-hdmi

The XFX HD 6870 AMD Radeon Graphics Card - 1GB - HD-687A-ZHFC seems like a good card but im guessing its way more than i need http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-...s-eyefinity-hdmi-2x-mini-displayport-2x-dvi-i
The XFX HD 6850 could have been a good compromise, but scan stock the ZCFC which doesnt seem to be working.
Are there any other cards i should consider?
Also im planning to use a firewire device for audio, would the onboard be ok or would i need a separate card?

Thanks for any help

I hope this offers some info

Also you should look at the old forum / website for some info as most of the osx SL posts are their -
http://legacy.tonymacx86.com/

This is a great starter card but some users report issues w it - an its not my pick.

My pic if you dont need CUDA cores for specific programs like CS6 would be a HD6850 or 6870 as they appear to work across all of the MAC osx version - check website (old one) for validity.

Thats kind of like girlfriends so many different ones but all do the same function. And yes your mother is right some of them you should not be with - this is true for video cards as well they just dont work out - see forums.

Also im planning to use a firewire device for audio, would the onboard be ok or would i need a separate card?

thats something that one should look into in the audio sections of both websites our aim is to just get it up and running,

Thanks for any help

Your welcome.

Yes this is the new site much like the old site where walking on the left is now walking on the right .... wait I brain faded that was the "WHO"
Anyway's this site has been up for only about two months and is not the total collective conciseness of the old site
But now you know that and Knowledge is power. See the old site as it was in the past - http://legacy.tonymacx86.com/
