I have gotten almost everything working after a fresh install of ML. Sleep works fine, but when I wake the computer up it complains that all the USB drives were unplugged before being ejected. The USB 2.0 devices are able to be remounted without much effort, but USB 3.0 devices completely disappear. Unplugging and re-plugging them in does nothing. There is no record of them in Disk Utility. If no drives are plugged in and I wake the computer up, it will still not detect anything which suggests the problem is with the VIA USB 3.0 ports on the back of the mobo and not the drives themselves. The only way to get the USB 3.0 ports back is to restart the computer. I have seen others with similar problems on x68 boards, but with the USB 2.0 ports, they say you can just unplug them and plug them back in to get them to register, but like I said, this does nothing for me.

Don't select 3rd party USB with IB systems...

From Multibeast 5.0.2

Enables USB 3.0 ports for systems using the NEC/Renesas D720200, Etron EJ168, or ASMedia ASM1042/1041 controller ONLY. Not compatible with 7 Series LGA 1155 motherboards. Caldigit official driver edited by mlydinesh. Installs CalDigitFastIO.kext and CalDigitUSBxHCI.kext in /System/Library/Extensions.

same problem here
With the USB 3.0 driver from multi beast 5.0.2

USB 3.0 works as long as you don't unplug it, then if you unplug it no USB device will recognize anything on any other USB port.

Same problem here. All USB ports eject (usb 2 and 3). I know everyone likes to claim that the Z77 UEFI boards don't need DSDTs but sleep is always one thing that requires DSDT edits. Over the next few weeks i'm going to start to build a minimal DSDT for this board that fixes the sleep issue.

When you get it, post it here! I have been surprised that no one seems to be building DSDT's for Z77 boards. While this board works better out of the box than any other board I have used for a Mac box, you are right that it still needs something to get all the kinks out. I have tried everything short of trying to write the DSDT edits to get this problem solved, and so far I have gotten no where.

WoUld using the NEw MacBook Pro 2012 Retina Display with USB 3 help with the DSDT edits? That is if we could get a hold of one?

So I hooked up the USB 3 adapter that came with the mobo to one of the internal USB 3 headers to see what that would do. As I understand it, the internal USB 3 headers are managed by an intel controller, and the back of the mobo ports are a separate VIA controller, so I thought it was worth a try.

Turns out that it does work better! I still get an error saying that the drives were not ejected properly, but unplugging and replugging the drive will allow it to remount without having to reboot the whole system. Also, if I eject the drive before sleeping the comp, the drive can be successfully remounted without error after I wake the computer.

Until we get a proper DSDT or USB 3 drivers, this will have to do I guess. Anyone else had any luck?

Guys I used to have the problem before until I disable XMP in the bios.

I don't and never had XMP enabled in the bios. Setting XHCI from Auto to Smart Auto messes up the system royally and took a lot to get it working correctly.
