Hi there,

I want to install Snow Leopard because of support for older Audio Card.

I use the following Components:
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00518M74I
Intel Core i7-2600k
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EBUXSA/
Corsair 16 GB (2 x 8GB) CML8GX3M2A1600C9W
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DKZK84
Asus ENGTX570 DCII/2DIS/1280MD5
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004MN3HBA/
OZC OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z0S6SO/
Lian li PC-A05NB
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005DVK9HU/
Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001CY0P7G/
be quiet! Straight Power E9 480W (Gold)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005LUXLNW
Sony DVD Writer (AD-7280S)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0057FRTPW

I did install 10.6.8 succesfully. But the onboard videocard is not supported. The only way i can let it work is using
Code:
GraphicsEnabler=No
Then i run Snow Leopard in 1024x768 resolution.

Is there any workaround to get the HD3000 running?
If there isn't what is a nice (cheap) videocard that has native support for Snow Leopard?

Thanks!

The HD3000 CPU graphics is not supported under Snow Leopard. You need Lion or Mountain Lion for that.

If you need a cheap video card, you can find a Nvidia GT210 which has support under Snow Leopard.

I was afraid so. :(

Any other suggestions for videocards? The more the better because i will search the dutch ebay for videocards that have native support for snow leopard?

I did found a "Palit Nvidia GTX 275" will this card run in snow leopard without hassle?

grotius

Not sure about the Palit designed card but their is a EVGA version listed in the video database w 896 ram on the VC - if this card has the same reference design then it should.

But i would check the data base for an alternative if this will cost you $$$.

RME HDSP9652 Hammerfall. It only works 32bit (support till snow leopard)

What is the command to boot in 32bit? I guess i will try videocard first but i may upgrade to lion.
The videocard is €50 so not to expensive. I will look at the wiki list aswell

no reason it shouldn't work in lion 32bit. i have a hammerfall hdsp multiface working in lion on the PCI bus.
