seems daunting as there seems to be quite a few guides, etc
what is THE best way for brand new install?
is there a guide that tells you everything from A-Z in an easy step-by-step?
maybe we can have THE guide as a sticky on top of this forum?

Tony, anyone...

which guide do you recommend i follow, and which installer, etcfor fresh install?

THANKS

Here is the link to my method that I have used several times now. I have made tweaks to this since I originally posted but have updated the post so it is the most current version. I have added all the files you will need except the ProBook Version 4 installer which if you google you will find.

aschewe

you mention 10.7.4 in our directions
you mean 10.8?

also, this "Install Mountain Lion AHCI Patch"
doesn't latest unibeast take care of this?
i don't remember doing anything like this for 10.7.3

thanks

The ProBook Version 4 Installer has not been officially updated for Mountain but it still works for the most part. So a lot of us are still using it along with some other kexts. You will select the 10.7.4 option in the ProBook install as there is no 10.8 option yet. It seems to be working fine for now. It just means it installs a certain group of kexts when you select the 10.7.4 option. Hope this makes sense.

I'm still using the AHCI Patch on the post install. Any changes that were made to Unibeast I believe will only affect the install process. I believe it is still needed on the post install but I could be wrong on that. Either way it does not seem to have harmed my system by installing it and I have used the most recent Unibeast. Hope that helps!
