I've tried but you can only get music etc.

possibly I could do it through an Iphone?

If you're already running OS X Snow Leopard and updated to 10.6.8, then you need to purchase it thru the Mac App Store.

Mountain Lion should be out tomorrow sometime! :headbang:

when I was installing my Snow Leopard on the step "How do you connect" I couldn't choose anything else than "apple modem" or "my computer is not gonna connect to the Internet" so I chosen the last one..

how can I get my Internet working now?

sorry for such a basic questions but as I said its my first time building these bad boys

You will need to use Multibeast to get you options like you network and sound to be functional -

As this must be you first time in this environment I suggest some ligt reading and video watching.

Now for something completly different.

If you are unfamiliar w the internal workings of the Mackintosh world, I found the following

websites and videos very be helpful.

But before you do this please look for some YOUtube vids under the name deanwrayUK

I have a problem now..my CPU is Ivy Bridge, and the system I have is Snow Leopard..
is it possible to install snow leopard on my cpu and then update to Lion?
In order to download Lion I will also have to set up network to be able to download Lion install..

is that possible at all? I don't really wan't to spend £65 on a thumb drive..

hope someone will be able to help me with this one!

Thanks!!

Snow Leopard doesn't support IB, you will need to use another mac. For example I used a mac at my local library for my unibeast drive.

but I've managed to install SL..and I can boot using iBoot legacy, the only problem I had was when I installed 6.8 update, then I couldn't boot at all..
it shows the right speed of CPU but then says unknown, and the RAM parameters are wrong as well..

I know BridgeHelper is needed for SANDY BRIDGE cpus, but IB? Idk.

For me will be only important to get the network working on even my 6.3 DVD version, and then I could download the Lion and erase my drive and start again with Lion..
and I don't really have any chance to use someone elses mac

any ideas?
