Hello community, I need some help with picking a graphics card, I want to go with the 6870 since i will be dual booting with windows to play some games.
But I don´t know what brand i should choose? I want to have dual displays, if possible one DVI and one HDMI, can anyone help me with this?

I suggest the Gigabyte model, I know for a fact it is OOB compatible with OSX Lion and capable to run 3 displays.

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-R687OC-1GD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
Thank you, but I cant find the Gigabyte version in my country so i have to look for something else, do you know anything about the ASUS version?

I know a couple others have had success with this:

XFX HD-687X-CNFC Radeon HD 6870 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
Newegg.com - XFX HD-687X-CNFC Radeon HD 6870 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

It's the card I bought for my upcoming build and I think the 2GB makes a difference when you're going dual-display.
Do I have to mess around with framebuffers and stuff like that?

Some builds I've looked at don't mess with it, some do. I would suggest searching for it on the forums and you'll come up with several. The wiki lists the card as working out of box.

Recommmend this GPU, XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB

I don't have a Lion build, but I recently built a SL 10.6.8, and I am very happy with this GPU XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB. I bought it at "newegg.com". I found hard to find HD 6870, for this model is already a bit old. I hope this helps.
