The problem:

When using iBoot to boot the OSX 10.6 DVD, it hangs.

- I'm using the latest iBoot 3.3.0. It's burned perfectly, so that's not the problem.
- I have a OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard DVD fresh from the apple store, so that's not the problem.
- When I use the "-v -x -f" bootflags, it still locks up, and here is the output:

Hangs there forever.
Is this a bug in iBoot 3.3.0? What should I try to do now?

Considering that your graphics card is not supported in SL, try installing with a supported card, upgrade to Lion, then swap cards.

It appears that some users have had luck w using the TM method to get a P55 Chipset and ati 6870 to work - I found this in Tonys legacy site

If you are were a member before the website update then you should be able to login and seach there for information.

As this is dated from 2009 it maybe that you will need some older iBoot and Multibeast which were used to get this to work.

Again this was done on Gigabyte P55 motherboards which have a dsdt file - this would be helpful to search - google - for a dsdt for your MB.

As to drivers in the 10.6.7 update from apple their is/was kexts for this video chipset - they were for the MacBookPro

Tony did /does have ATI drivers in his multibeast - I dont have ATI so not knowing this!

But the first thing you need to get operational is getting past you current halt.

Suggest you try to use some command line switchs such as -x -v -f graphicsenabler=no ( spelling)

It seems to be that its waiting for a responce from the onboard nic - if you continue to get halts - I suggest you disable the onboard network in the system to see if you can get past it.

Hardware connections - my preferenced are to have the dvd on the intel sata port 4 and the hack hard disk on port 1 some have it dvd on 1 hd on 2
But do not use anything other that the sata ports for the intel chipset. A lot of MB include other sata connectors - jmicron - marvell etc.

Hard drives - only sata will do - your pata is not used so disable this in the bios. Hard drive size - less that 1 TB especially if your hard disk is advacned format spec drive which means 4k sectoring - this is a problem w our boot loader - so a smaller drive is a happier drive for the hack "boot" volume

ALso as tony states you need to use ahci hpet & 64 bit and S3 set in the bios - it reported that these values get reset from time to time - so check often.

If you do have an older video card I suggest you try that for you first attempt as macs can do more w older hardware than any MS OS can.
