Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

That should be 3841, and applies to any processor. iMacPro1,1 and MacPro7,1 both expect a Xeon W which goes by this identifier, irrespective of the number of cores or precise architecture (Skylake-W or Cascade Lake-W).

So strange!

I started my build with the EFI-083-PROART efi, and updated it to 088 prior to first launch. Somehow along the way, my Processor ID got changed to 3842 (which is where I got that from, and since I have no recollection of changing that, I assumed that's how it came from Casey) however I just rechecked his original and it IS indeed 3841.

Although my system is working with 3842, after re-reading the GitHub on Restrict Events (and your response @etorix ), I'm gonna change it to 3841 right quick!

Thanks as always!

I remember quite well that I updated the ME under Windows 10 but for soma strange reason it didn't work for me. I'm still on ME v. 16.0.15.1620 even if I have v. 2103 of BIOS.
That's weird. Maybe you can try upgrading to a certain version (for example, 16.0.15.1735), and then the version you want?

@ffjigft YES! it's weird! at this point I would like to align BIOS with ME. Then if I downgrade to BIOS v. 9901, which version of ME should correspond with that BIOS version? I wouldn't downgrade more than 9901 because I would like to buy a Rocket-Lake 13700KF in the near future.

Could someone please give me an idea as to why when I try to edit a config.plist file in OpenCore Configurator 2.68.0 and save my changes that those changes are not actually retained? I just don't understand what I am doing wrong here. I generate the PlatformInfo by selecting the closest model (MacPro 7.1) and everything looks good. I save the file, close out and try to boot with the USB. It fails, so I bring the flash drive back to my Mac Mini and open the config.plist file again, and the info I just specified is gone. Thanks!

9901 is newer than 2204 so likely the same ME that is used on 2204 should also be used on 9901.

Quick question - would updating Windows affect sleep on Mac?

Win11 updated on me yesterday and now my machine doesn't sleep on Mac? Auto or forced - screen goes black, just doesn't switch off.. Weird.

Nothing has changed EFI wise.
Tried NVRAM reset, still same result.

Any ideas?

9901 should be based on 1720 if I understood correctly

@StarsAndBars

I've had this same issue over the years with OpenCore Configurator. Make sure you only have one config.plist file open in OCC at a time. It seems to get confused if more than one is open. I go to the extreme of only having one EFI partition opened in OpenCore Configurator at a time.

To be sure the config.plist is correctly saved you can always save the changes, close the file, then reopen it to if the changes were written.

I predominantly use OCC, but it has its "quirks" to work around.

I don’t know what 9901 is based on but I do know what with the latest ME, 2103 doesn’t detect my raptor lake SP properly or have correct boosting predictions. But 9901 behaves just fine with the latest ME, leading me to believe it is based on 2204. But I don’t know for sure. I suppose we could look at the microcode version to see if it is the same as 2204 or based on the older 1720.

I thought the 2000 series bioses were regression locked and couldn’t roll back to 1000 series?
