Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hi will the Asus Z790 ProArt Creator WiFi also work ? The specs seems pretty much the same
I used Casey's EFI to boot and install Big Sur and it worked first time, i did however need to make some changes prior to doing so. Make sure you read this whole thread (like i did prior to booting), ensuring you haven't missed any valuable information.

As @UtterDisbelief said, it's an expensive exercise and the last thing you want is to make a mistake and brick your brand new system lol

V2 already tried not working.
Are you using the latest version of UAD software?
Are you using the latest version of Ventura?

It's possible UAD haven't updated their own software considering their last update was a month before Ventura's latest version. I'd wait till the next UAD update to see if it corrects the problem.

In the mean time, I would try using either V1B or V2, when the computer wakes from sleep, turn the Apollo off and on again. It should reconnect.

If not, put the PC to sleep again, turn off the Apollo, wake it up then turn it back on, should reconnect again.

And if not, cold reboot will definitely fix it.

The reason why I say it could be an OS issue is because I haven't experienced it but I'm still using Monterey.

What is the version number of your Thunderbolt NVM ?

Hello, all!

I’ve followed this thread since the beginning, and some of you may recognize I built one of my own (using a 13700k). All is well, but at the risk of sounding like one of those TL;DR folks, I’d like to hear about the overall state of the 10gigE (in combination with 1gigE port). I’m asking b/c I’m planning on possibly using this build for just that, where the 10gigE will be connected to a switch which connects to a shared storage file system for video editing while ALSO using the 1gigE port for general network/internet traffic.

The switch environment hasn’t been installed yet, so I can’t test myself, and I recall numerous posts on here about successes, sporadic success, etc., but always I ‘think’ one or the other, not both.

Off-topic and for anyone interested, I am using an LG Ultrafine 5k (yes, full 5k) AND a 2nd 27” monitor (via HDMI), AND successfully ALSO got an eGPU to work on the remaining TB port (not Mac OS usable of course, but Resolve usable — had to disable the hot-plug aml of course), but wow! I know Raptor with z690 is considered iffy, and it’s true I have some odd stability anomalies now and again, but I am super pleased and humbled by the efforts of this thread.

As always, thanks for everything!
J

What do you mean by this?
DaVinci Resolve can see (and utilize) eGpus that wouldn’t otherwise be useable by a Mac using a non-flashed TB chip.

I need to understand this more.. I use Resolve alot, currently exporting a video as I type this.

In one post (trying not to send this thread off topic lol) If you can elaborate on how to do this, or guide me in a direction so i can look into a bit more, would be greatly appreciated!
What does the TB chip have to do with it?

Thanks

EDIT: Actually disregard, i was in a rush early and mis-read your initial post (confused eGPU with iGPU lol), and thought "how is he using the CPU to export in Resolve" LOL smh.

Need more coffee!
