[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

@aka80
I have 2 hacks with 2 RX 6600 XT, XFX QICK 308 and Gigabyte Eagle, and I don't have this drawback. Both cards are very quiet when fans are spinning.
I hear this type of noise (not too annoying) only when turning on the PC during the BIOS check and when the cards are under intense work and the temperature rises above 60-70º.

These are my current files and config.plist.

Hi @miliuco,

Thank you very much for your interesting answers. I must have missed something in my config.plist settings or in the contents of my EFI folder.

I thought at first that the card was faulty, but when I did some research on the web, it pointed me to a settings problem, rather than a faulty gpu.

I'll try to make changes by referring to your config. I'll keep you informed. Thanks

Hi @pastrychef,

Thank you for your reply

Thank you for your answer. Can you please tell me what you have like Kexts, ssdt and settings in config.plist, for power management, and for gpu?

Thanks

Link to my Z370-G build is below, in my signature. You can find my EFIs attached to post #1.

Thanks guys,

I made several changes, in my EFI folder, and in my config.plist, based on your posts and your configs: Kexts update (Lilu, AppleALC, WhateverGreen).
I still have the coil whine, but otherwise my config seems to work very well.
Some results with Geekbench, and Sensei. I do not know what you think about it?
I put my EFI attached

My thinking is that it's a hardware issue and EFI changes can't fix it.

Me too, if it was a setup issue others would have encountered this issue. The fact no one else using the same series GPU is talking about coil whine is telling.

RMA the card, assuming you bought it recently enough that the card is still in the first 12 months of ownership and the seller is willing to deal with the defect.

If not contact the cards manufacturer, i.e. Gigabyte, Asus, PowerColor etc.

Don’t tell them the problem occurs on your Hackintosh, as they won’t want to know if you tell them you are running it on an unauthorised OS…

I bought it used on Amazon. So it's easy to return it, because I'm still within 30 days to change my mind.
