@Robbish My network devices are Bluetoodh Pan = en0, Lan = en1. How can I change the order? (I don't have wifi - my intel card is not supported).

Also, do you know why my Atheros AR8151 onboard Ethernet wouldn't be working with the AtherosE2200Ethernet kext? Only the onboard Intel works with IntelMausi. Not a big deal, just curious.

Lastly, would you know if it's possible to upgrade this install to Monterey using SMBIOS iMacpro1,1? Software Update is telling me M
- To reset your network, use this guide;

- Your AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext should work. Maybe you need to mount your EFI and open your config.plist in ProperTree and do a Cmd+R (OS Snapshot), Save, Exit and reboot.

- If you upgrade to Monterey on an IvyBridge board then your HD4000 will not be supported and you would have to look at third party patch which is available somewhere on GitHub or from one of the OPs on this site.

I didn’t upgrade beyond Big Sur on that IvyBridge motherboard/CPU combo so YMMV.

Hey Community,
My friend and I followed this guide to renew his hackintosh build with the following components:

Mac OS Big Sur
Gigabyte Z77-DS3H
Intel Core i7-3770 Sockel 1155, 3.40 GHz
BCM94360CD Wireless Card
AsRock Phantom OC RX590
480GB SSD

Almost Everything worked OOB by following this guide, even the USB Ports did not have to be reconfigured, front and back are working flawlessly, BUT WE DID NOT MANAGE TO GET THE INTERNET WORKING AT ALL, neither the onboard Ethernet nor the BCM94360CD (which should work OOB). I was into hackintosh's way back when LGA775 and quadcore processors were the latest CPUs. However, I am not able to figure out the problem's solution myself.

I attached our EFI folder hoping someone is able to spot the mistake.

Huge thanks in advance and greetings from Germany!

Your EFI is missing an Ethernet kext
AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext - Download this Atheros Ethernet Kext if you are using the Z77-DS3H onboard

Add the above kext to your EFI's Kext folder and then open your config.plist in ProperTree and do a CMD-R (OC snapshot), Save, Exit and Reboot

Very nice guide, have any of you tried booting the system with an NVMe SSD m.2 ???
I have managed to boot WINDOWS 11 AND macOS on the same NVMe drive, performance is way better than SATA, specially on this older motherboards.

After many trials and errors, it's done.
EVGA H55-V mobo (CIRCA 2010 2011) OVER 10 YEARS OLD
1156 Socket CPU i7 (GEN 1 ? GEN 0 ? )
BIOS ONLY """" NO EUFI"" """ NO NVME BOOT SUPPORT OF ANY KIND)
DISK FORMATTED TO GPT (even though no UEFI support)
AMD RX 570
Booting with a EUFI capable motherboard should be a lot easier (NO NVMe SOCKET OR BOOT SUPPORT and NO MOD BIOS )
should be required
ONLY AN ADAPTER AND A FEW FILES
So far my testing was on Clover bootloader but should be a similar process if not easier on OpenCore
I will test OpenCore in the next days

You should really try it :)

I already have in my current Haswell build where I modded my BIOS to boot natively from my NVMe drive connected via a PCI adapter. This was actually discussed in posts posts #56 - #58 as per quote below:
Hi @Westsurf, I should have done my research firstly before mentioning adding an NVMe drive. Shortly after I posted that suggestion to wooolooo, I later discovered everything you mentioned so yesterday, I modded my own BIOS so it now has the inserted NvmExpressDxe_4.ffs file in there. I'm now waiting for my PCie - Nvme adapter to arrive. I have yet to purchase a NVMe drive to test it.

I used Windows to do it with this guide

P.S. The UEFITool for Mac available on GitHub (the LongSoft and the A58 LongSoft vit9696 version) did not allow me to insert files into my BIOS, it was only read only and extract only so I used UEFITool within the tools from here

Hi,

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H rev1.1 motherboard with:
- Intel Core i7-3770
- Sapphire NITRO+ RX 580 8G G5
- 802.11ac WiFi card Broadcom BCM94360CD
- SSD Crucial MX500

Everything is here https://github.com/tkrotoff/Gigabyte-GA-Z77-DS3H-rev1.1-Hackintosh including EFI/OC/config.plist (with comments), EFI/OC/Kexts/USBMap.kext, EFI/OC/ACPI/SSDT-PM.aml...
Works with OpenCore 0.8.6 + Monterey 12.6.1

Some remarks:
- Audio layout 12 is better
- I don't think trim should be enabled, APFS is designed for SSD
- RX 580 works without WhateverGreen.kext
- https://github.com/corpnewt/USBMap is supposed to be the best solution for USB mapping (no need for USBInjectAll.kext & XhciPortLimit true)
- I don't think there is the need for SSDT-EC.aml
- You have to rename EHC1 to EH01 + EHC2 to EH02 according to https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore...eparation.html#checking-what-renames-you-need

Congrats @tanguy_k on your GitHub writeup. Your setup is a better spec than mine was and I'm impressed that you have Monterey on it. I no longer have the GA-Z77-DS3H anymore.

Cool.. though that's probably because you have the later Rev1.1 version of this motherboard and external Gfx so differs from my Rev 1.0 version mobo.

Trim is necessary when using a Third Party SSD like ours regardless of what file system is used.

- RX 580 works without WhateverGreen.kext
- https://github.com/corpnewt/USBMap is supposed to be the best solution for USB mapping (no need for USBInjectAll.kext & XhciPortLimit true)
I did try the CorpNewt method but Hackintool was a lot easier for me to get to grips with + the GUI is very helpful. I do use a lot of the other Utilities in Hackintool, it's an indispensable tool for me so BigUp Headkaze and CorpNewt for their amazing tools.

- I don't think there is the need for SSDT-EC.aml
I certainly didn't need it before Big Sur though doesn't hurt to keep it in the ACPI

I missed that one. Prior to using OpenCore, I used Clover with a DSDT that patched everything including Renames however in the earlier OpenCore guides of the day, I think the advise was to remove DSDTs and ditch the Renames.

Enjoy your Hackintosh, my Z77-DS3H was rock solid, I'm sure that yours will be too

Still no Atheros. I've reset network settings, Snapshot my config.plist, tried changing the order of the kexts so atheros is before intel but no luck. Not a big deal since the intel is working but strange. Even stranger is that it is listed under 'PCIe' in Hackintool. If Hackintool sees it, why doesn't macOS?

Audio works, but not perfect under any layout (I have pc speakers plugged in to the back panel line out (green port) but with any of the layouts that work (most), the speakers always work only when 'Internal Speaakers' is selected rather than 'Line Out'). Also not a big deal and I went with layout 3.

Upgraded to Monterey with no issues at all. Unfortunately Ventura is a no-go with Ivy Bridge due to AVX2 requirement.

Thanks again for this awesome in depth guide!
