pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

My system sometimes gets very laggy (visually stutters) when playing youtube videos from any browser, any idea what it could be?

I'm using 19,1 on Ventura, RX 560. I touch nothing on the config except filling in my PlatformInfo stuff.

Did you consider good cables? I had to upgrade mines to 8K capable ones. I have even 165 in Ventura (which I had in previous macOS release as well).
Thank you for your help. With a resolution of 2560x1440P I also reach 144Hz. 4K and 144Hz is not possible.

Anybody else found that sleep isn't working anymore as it should be? If my system enters sleep (from a fresh reboot) I looks ok. System is entering sleep but after a 15 min or so it wakes again. When I don't touch my system it enters sleep again and then it stays a little shorter in sleep let say 10 min. After a while it toggles between sleep and wake (because nobody is logging in). Any ideas? I think something is changed in Ventura causing this. I tried different EFI backups from recent but nog change to them. Powernap is disabled.

Please enter the following in Terminal and post the output.

Code:
log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"

thanks

I think some USB device is causing the wakes.
I tried to swap out all cables. There was one cable which leads to my Dell monitor Hub connecting mouse and keyboard. I removed first keyboard and after that mouse. When I removed mouse cable system kept in sleep. So I lead the mouse cable with an extension cable to one of the USB ports on the system directly. Looks that its working again as it should. This is also one of the reasons not to go for a real Apple. Support here is far more superior compared to Apple standards and the best of all ... free ;-)

Hello! THX for your fast answer...

Yesterday I enabled VT-d in BIOS but it makes all of my mice and Keyboards unable to control anything even in OC boot menu... had to hard reset and disable it in Bios again to make keyboard etc work... Will try it again and report back.

Funny thing with the driver is, that Driver Software and MacOS says it is connected and loaded, so I can selct it in sound preferences and in Logic etc., also the kext seems to be loaded and active (as I've seen via terminal command) but I do not get Sound output.

Thank you!

I'm away from the studio for some days now. But when I come back I'll reset bios settings and start from scratch there.
In gpu, I have set primary-> automatic and iGPU-> enabled
I'll try to set primary to PCI-E. Maybe that's the problem.
I did this since with primary set to PCI-E I couldn't enter the bios, cause the screen was black.
Thx for helping!
I somehow got my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 FireWire interface working on Monterey 12.5 today with very strange behavior!
Problem was: audio interface was recognized by macOS but audio output did not work...
audio output worked after the first startup with browser and Spotify. But, as soon as I started logic pro, audio output stopped working and was gone forever! All inputs including midi working.
Interface completely recognized by its software.

Today:
I did a clean install of Monterey macOS 12.5;
Reset the BIOS settings to optimal settings;
Set the BIOS according to post #1;
Set primary GPU to PCI-e; and
Enabled iGPU.
This resulted is FW interface is working again normally, with output. But all USB ports are broken; only pxsx controller working, no BT, etc.

After that, I went into BIOS again, set primary gpu to auto and iGPU to disabled.
-> same issue with the interface as before.

Again into BIOS.
Set primary GPU to PCI-e;
Set iGPU to enabled again; and
All is working normal now. USB, BT, fw interface.

Really strange behavior! But I am happy I solved it!

How is the FW audio output problem connected to iGPU?
I don't know.
