ASUS X299 Monterey/Ventura Support

do not mix and match
Okay, so if I install the updated OC, how do I without affecting any other things that 7hina and Lorengrin did to help me with making adjustment to those files?

By the way, I did what you said to do before a week ago and replaced those files (the way you explained), so did I mix and match those file from before?

not sure what you done

only update the core files and add/remove/amend config.plist, run ocvalidate on config.plist and make sure there are no errors

What I did (from what you instructed before), I downloaded the latest OC, then I went to all of these files:

  • EFI/BOOT/BOOTx64.efi
  • EFI/OC/OpenCore.efi
  • EFI/OC/Drivers/OpenRuntime.efi
and replaced the (older), BOOTx65.efi, OpenCore.efi and the OpenRuntime.efi with the newer ones. That's what I thought you instructed me to do, from what you posted in your reply to me initially. Was I wrong in doing it this way? Because that's what I did and my current EFI is running Ventura just fine. So if this is wrong, my apologies, but I'm knowledgeable with this this stuff very well. I can do some basic stuff (like go into specific folders and even open particular files and replace text with other text when instructed to do so), but I'm not a coder and even though I read through how to use OC, I'm still don't understand it that well. That's why I need step-by-step instructions sometimes.

Also, some of these instructions are very lengthy and not easy for me to comprehend. Maybe I read too far into things, where it's so simple, but I'm not understanding it correctly. Like maybe the way you instructed me. Because at face value, I took what you I thought you stated and replaced those files in those folders. I hope I did it right and look forward to your reply. Thank you.

Cool! Then I did do the right thing. So all I did was take those newer files (BOOTx65.efi, OpenCore.efi and the OpenRuntime.efi) in the New OC v0.8.5 and put those 3 three new files in the Old OC v0.8.4 to update it, so it's now v0.8.5, correct? Just seeking clarity. Thanks.

and run ocvalidate on your config.plist and make any needed changes

I am not sure what is wrong. Everything seems to be configured OK and my MOBO ran fine everything up to Ventura.
In Ventura I can't see any other drive other than the Ventura drive. SMBIOS is iMacPro1,1, but I tried MacPro7,1 as well. So none of the internal drives are recognized except the Ventura drive. When I plug an USB it starts blinking (it gets the power), but it is not appearing in Disk Utility. In Ioregistry I can see the drives though. What gives?

I had a very stable Hackintosh (Asus x299 TUF MK1, 7980XE, Sapphire RX590) running for three years, when all the sudden it started booting to black screen. The system itself is indeed running, as from another system I can access over the local network to the shared folders. It is running the latest Catalina with Clover. From the second system I then created a usb installer based on the OpenCore EFI shared on the first post of this thread, but that one also result in a boot to black screen. I tried connecting to a different Display Port or to DVI, but the monitor does not receive the signal.
I feel completely clueless..

So still trying to work my way through booting the monterey install. I'm getting the black screen/crash after this point in the booting.

I've run through OCValidate and I don't think there were any errors. I've been through the troubleshooting and I'm not seeing an obvious solution, nor is googling helping any.
Can't play world of warcraft until I can get my hackintosh running again, so a hand would be greatly appreciated.
