Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

which times of boot do u guys have, because with 2 modules of RAM Crucial DDR5 4800Mhz it last like 1.5min and with only 1 it last for 45 sec.

With four also last for like 1.5 or something like that.

I've seen some weird problems using the USB-C Thunderbolt ports on the Z690 Pro Art with the 13900K, just the machine restarts out of nowhere. I'm even doing a 10TB Windows Backup because on Mac, it happened 3x yesterday in a matter of 10 to 20 minutes usage. The USB and USB-c TB ports, I think need major tweaking. I already think about not using any external USB or USB-c drives with the Z690 and the 13900K processor. I found a problem also in the central slot when I put an 8x card and I have a 5700rx in the first slot; it just doesn't work. I've called Asus and no one can answer. There is a suspicion that this is related to BIOS 2103, which is very recent for 13900Kk and may still need a lot of adjustments.. let's see...
No, luckily the back USB-C/TH4 ports are working perfectly for me. But I don't use any particular TH hardware with them, so probably it's easier for me.

@CaseySJ Should the USB from Thunderbolt port work?

The thunderbolt dispositive are working correctly, but if i connect something like a USB it does not recognize anything

Ok so I create a new SSDT mapping the USB ports from THB, now they work on the motherboard, but I connect a Thunderbolt Display that has 2 USB ports and these are not working. Is that normal ?

Edit: After some test, I can see that it detects the display hub for 1 second when I connect it to the Thunderbolt and then immediately disabled like if it was plugged out.

(Sorry for my English, if i do not explain something right.)

So I'm not using only an OWC USB-C Dock on the TB, I assume it's her to blame for restarting everything..

Regarding this post of mine and my problem with front USB-C port just a follow-up:

after upgrading BIOS (v. 2004 or v. 2103, both of them have the same behavior), I've also noticed that not only the front UBS-C port is not working correctly under Mac but under Windows 10 too.

So I've entered in contact with Asus support, and I'll let you know if it's an H/W problem, and, therefore, I will RMA the board or it's a BIOS/firmware/software problem of some type. In the meantime anybody is experiencing my same problem
What method are you using for USB port map? I've always heard that using an SSDT is the best method. Are you using a boot arg to exclude ports? Are you using OC to boot into Windows? If so, maybe OC isn't correctly handling things properly. I only ask because you are experiencing the exact same behavior I was. Here is the SSDT I'm using based on @CaseySJ's AURA LED AML. Feel free to test.

I routinely use external USB-C SSD's (non-thunderbolt devices) over TB ports on my ProArt, and I have zero problems with them. I'm running the latest BIOS 2103. One big difference, as you point out, is that I am using a 12900K CPU. So maybe there are some issues there.

Apologies for the late reply; I've been tied with an AM5 Ryzen project.

Anyway, I can check my front panel USB-C port over the weekend.

All: If your case has a front-panel USB-C port, please connect a USB-C flash drive, put the system to sleep, then wake it up. Does the USB-C flash drive disconnect or remain connected?

I believe that's exactly it, see Asus in 1 year of Z690 released practically 10 or 11 BIOS, and only these last two are that work on the 13900K, so even fine-tuning all this..

It will take a while.. But there is also another thing. Tonight I worked directly in Windows, and with the USB in the same way.. zero problem.

So I really believe that we may have a mapping problem with this new processor in the HACK.... As I've never done these mappings of USB ports, I've always used the ones @CaseySJ made available. Maybe if I learned to do these mappings I could test...

Interesting... my system will not sleep with USB-c SSD plugged in to the front port. Sleeps fine without. Screens go dark, then 1 min later, usually when the case powers down, it pops back on. The drive does not disconnect though.
Running macOS 12.6.1.

I thought you were working to update to Ventura this build ;-)

The problem is not the sleep/wake process itself. In fact, when I have something connected to the front (HS09/SS09 port) USB-C port, the sleep doesn't work at all, and the machine try to go to sleep but it doesn't go and wakes up immediately.

The problem is that when I connect a device to the USB-C front, it appears on the monitor as connected, and then it disconnects (with the usual error of "Disk not ejected properly"). It reconnects immediately, then it stays there and I can do what I want with it, but then the sleep won't work till I don't disconnect manually that device from the USB-C port.

You can have a look of this behavior on my post #1997. Thanks! :)

MacOS 12.6.1 / BIOS v. 2103

And under Windows 10 it happens the same.
