UtterDisbelief 20 ITX - Gigabyte Z590i, i5-10600K, 32GB, RX560

Update No.3 - A Bit of a Wild-Card

I decided to try installing High Sierra on this build. I understand there are a few people who might wish to stay with an older version of macOS for software reasons and are unable to find an easier motherboard like a Z390 or Z490.

This EFI will work to install High Sierra and also run it once installed. HOWEVER there are a few issues you need to be aware of if you wish to try it:

1) No USB3. All ports available are activated, but only as USB2.0. The Z590 chipset and a Comet Lake CPU will not give USB3 because of the USB3.2 Gen 2 nature of the new USB stack unsupported back in High Sierra.

2) No Ethernet. If you wish to use this you will need to buy a supported Realtek USB Ethernet adapter.

3) The AppleALC in the original EFI will not work for this set-up so I've used VoodooHDA instead.

4) Intel wireless has to be activated using the itlwm.kext rather than AirportItlwm, which does not support High Sierra. Because of this you need to manually enter your own SSID access-point name and password in the internal Info.plist using a plain-text editor (right-click on kext, select Show Package Contents, go to Contents folder).

5) System-Definition is still iMac18,3. CPU is spoofed to Coffee Lake.

6) The version of OpenCore used is 0.6.8, so a very old version.

The system is very reliable. It sleeps and wakes as it should.

Note: As usual the serial-numbers in the config.plist are DUMMIES. Change them to your own.

Hmm that is a real good point. Yes, changing the system definition is what other threads suggest. But sounds like it is "just that". Maybe I will keep it like this for now. If I set MacOS to sleep for a second, the monitor works again. Just have to figure out that other little problem, although it is not that annoying.

Maybe I will have it running for a while now first and test everything out.

But thank you so much for your help and this build!

Finally can get my hands on xcode!

So all of the sudden, without any hardware changes, my system won't boot anymore :/
It just freezes on the login screen or directly after logging in.
I guess you have not seen this problem yet? I tried clearing nvram without any success

Thanks for this! I have the same board with a 11700k. About to buy a Sapphire Pulse rx580 8gb and try this out. I've only tried a hackintosh build only once and that was a very long time ago in which I did it just to "mess around with".

Anyone here tried this same board with a 11700k and had success? Just tried your Big Sur EFI file, and it gets stuck at the Apple screen when I try using the bootable USB.
Thanks!

Update No. 4 - Ventura

Early days for the latest macOS version, but I know a lot of people are interested in trying it so I created a Ventura EFI folder for this build.

It uses OpenCore version 0.8.5 and all the latest kexts at the time of posting.

Everything works.

System-definition still iMac18,3.

The only thing to be aware of is that the AirportItlwm kext used is the latest version 2.2.0-alpha and although working fine at present, may prove flakey until the official final release.

Note, that as usual the serial-number and UUID in the config.plist are dummies. Change them to match your own.

Wow, thank you so much.
So what would be the best way to actually upgrade? Updating/Changing the EFI and then just installing the system upgrade?

Btw. is there a way to buy you a coffee? ;)

Forget the upgrade question...i will figure it out
