Hi everyone,
I have and old Asus x556uj laptop with I5 6200U and gt920m and I'm willing to install Catalina on it using clover.
I managed to find this fully working EFI clover configuration by milanista18 https://github.com/milanista18/ASUSX556UJ and I would like to know if it would work for installing Catalina since it isn't mentioned (idk if each EFI config will only work on a certain macos version or on all that's why I'm asking)
Also the only thing that was mentioned to be "work in progress" (probably abandoned at this point) is the port mapping on this config, and I read that when not set properly all usb ports will be considered as usb 2.0 and I really want to keep the advantages of my usb type-c and usb 3.0 on this laptop.
searching online I also found this ACPI folder for the same laptop (opencore though) and .aml files https://dsdt-database.monster/x556uj-xo044t-opencore/ and I was wondering if they might include the port mapping configuration missing and might be useful to get it fixed.
Sorry the thread is a bit too long but I'm a newbie and still figuring it out even though I already read most of the threads in the last month.

You have to choose one bootloader or the other.

It says:
OpenCore for X556URK
So the author of that did not use Clover at all. It Makes more sense to go with OpenCore rather than Clover. If you want to upgrade to Big Sur or newer later on it will make everything much simpler. It's also best to create your own EFI folder so that you learn the complete process rather than depending on someone else's work. Feartech's Guide linked above will take you through the whole process. Making your own USB Ports kext in Catalina is also very easy when you follow @UtterDisbelief's guide. Just takes a few minutes when using the Hackintool app.

thanks for replying! seems I pasted the wrong github link so sorry man
here is the correct one https://github.com/milanista18/ASUSX556UJ
i'll definitely go with clover at this point..
the question that remains is whether that will work with catalina or not, and if there is any port mapping tutorial or something i can use to get that done based on that EFI configuration

please update your hardware profile to allow others to help you easier
missing your intel graphics (the only graphics that will work as your nvidia is not supported)
