[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I have one of those. Unfortunately, Apple drop support for FW when Big Sur came out.
Hm? I just checked my TB3 -> TB2 -> FireWire contraption connected to my ancient RME FireFace 800, and sure enough, this still works.

Had to fight with the .kext installation but that is a known issue in BS.

Yes, WD SN850 is compatible, but it supports both PCIe 4 and PCIe 3, so it’s more expensive than WD750 that only supports PCIe 3. For this motherboard the SN750 may be a better choice.

Can't wait for the write up :-D I was happy on 0.8.2 ... till beta 3 came out, and now the public beta is released I will wait for your instructions so I don't mess up again....

Ventura 13.0 : Success :)
For me everything works for now after installing the new public beta 22A5295i

I just downloaded and replaced: latest Lilu 1.62, BlueToolFixup, add AirportItlwm-Ventura.kext and OC 0.83.
-lilubetaall was necessary for onboard sound to work, despite latest AppleALC.kext

Even Monterey supports FW, the issue seems the DriverKit model was changed, so drivers has to be redone, a task that not many companies are willing to take (spend more resources in legacy hardware)
