There is no official path to upgrade to a version of macOS later than High Sierra and keep a Nvidia video card active with the Web Drivers. With Mojave Apple removed the stub frameworks that the Web Drivers need to connect with, and Apple did not give Nvidia a developers license that could be used to create the necessary driver kexts.

The last time Nvidia released a Web Driver package was about 2 years ago to match up with the last security update Apple released for High Sierra. All they did this time was repackage that release with a new certificate to replace the revoked one.

The only Nvidia support available in Mojave through Big Sur is for GPUs that Apple used as OEM chips. That is only Kepler based Geforce GT 600 and 700 series cards. All Nvidia support is gone from Monterey.

I have seen the occasional mention of hacks being done to the existing Web Drivers to let them run on later versions of the macOS than High Sierra, but have no idea how successful those have been. Recently Nvidia released open source drivers, possibly someone could modify the Linux source to be compatible with recent versions of macOS, but I don't know if anyone is taking that approach. Realistically the practical approach to going to an OS later than High Sierra is an AMD card supported by the Apple drivers.

Em... it seems that it won't have a best chance to upgrade macOS at the moment.
Wish Nvidia will do something for Big Sur and Mojave as sooner.

Or still need to wait for the latest Nvidia web driver announcement?

not really no, but your skylake graphics will work up to Monterey

The Dortania team is experimenting the Web Driver for newer macOS versions, but it is impossible to have Metal.

Update High Sierra till lates 17G14042
Cleanup NVIDIA Web driver (WEB-Drive-Toolkit From Github)
Make this in terminal console:
sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions/NVDAStartupWeb.kext
sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Extensions/NVDAStartupWeb.kext
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions/ && sudo kextcache -u /
sudo touch /Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

Add boot arguments in clover configurator as in attached screenshot
Add kext as in attached screenshot
Reboot (If you have black screen add temporary boot atgument nv_disable=1)
Install official driver 387.10.10.10.40.140

Reboot and Be Happy

The solution provided by fariddster worked for me as well.
I first had to update the High Sierra 2020-005 Security update and then the 2020-006. (you don't need the ones before if you are stuck as well. #5 includes all the previous ones.)

After that everything described in the post worked!

Thank you so much! I was very close to ripping that 1080ti out, selling it on eBay, and buying a NEW mac. HAHA

Using the signed Nvidia drivers in post #131 of this thread should remove the requirement to use the amfi get out of my way boot argument.

Greetings everyone !

I've been struggling for the past 2 days trying to get my hackintosh to load the graphic card again, following the Nvidia Webdriver mess caused by Apple...

I managed to get my High Sierra build up to 17G14042 following the indications here, I've installed the latest webdriver and cuda, but I keep getting a black screen on boot... I can boot when disabling the GPU (I run a 980TI) but no matter what I do, I cannot fix the black screen issue.

I've changed nothing aside from doing security updates and installing new webdrivers. Everything was working fine until the revoked signature. I've changed nothing to my EFI which was working fine as well. I've followed up the indications to clean uninstall the old webdriver and reinstall them, but it still ends up in black screen at boot. I even added the boot argument amfi_get_out_of_my_way=0x1 but to no avail...

Does anyone have any idea what I would need to look into first ? Did anyone have similar issue and managed to get it back to work ?
