Alas this confirms my suspicion that AppleVTD is necessary for this card to work in Monterey. VT-d adds extra security, and Apple has been moving in that direction lately. On AMD Ryzen systems it may not be possible to do this because AppleVTD seems to work only with Intel VT-d (virtualization technology for directed I/O).

@CaseySJ Well my ancient Wacom Cintiq finally seems to have died today, so I thought I might give Apple "Sidecar" a try with my iPadPro. It seems to go through the initial process to connect (via USB cable), but then fails. I tried scrubbing through as much of this thread as I could to find any info about sidecar support but I only found one mention and nothing further. Could you confirm if sidecar works or not? I'm on OC 0.7.8
Thanks!

Hello @hoeveler

Unfortunately SideCar requires a supported Intel iGPU or Apple T2 chip. On AMD Ryzen, we don’t have either of those. I have tried using third party alternatives, but none has provided anywhere near a satisfactory experience. My experiences are described here:

Thanks for the details. I have used the Astropad software before on an authentic Mac before I wonder if I can get this working? https://astropad.com/product/studio/

Yes it’s normal. ;) Please see:

** Quick Note on macOS 13: Ventura **
Yes, even for AMD Ryzen :)

Apple intends to release a public beta of Ventura next month. As soon as it's available, I'll post a mini-guide explaining (a) OpenCore configuration, (b) installation options, and (c) what works and what does not work. Meanwhile, consider upgrading to latest version of macOS Big Sur or Monterey. And latest version of OpenCore (0.8.1).

Tried to boot 12.4 earlier today on the B550 and noticed the Intel Bluetooth is once again not working.
