I just reset the NVRAM on my High Sierra Install by pressing F11 at Clover boot menu. It rebooted automatically, then booted using my GPU. Tried opening the nvidia download package from downloads page here, (which I used dozens of times).

Now Im getting an

What gives? I've never seen this before?

It appears that the Nvidia driver security certificates have expired.

The certificate was revoked on June 1st. Apple or Nvidia have completely cut off use of Nvidia Pascal cards like your GTX 970. It appears that Nvidia has been hacked earlier this year and their code signing certificates have been compromised. So you can't completely trust software signed by them as it may be signed by a third party involved that is spreading malware.

Not certain that it is Apple, surely the Nvidia web drivers are owned/maintained by Nvidia.

Holy sh+t! I guess that's it then! The ride is over!
Not quite sure what I can do now. Major bummer!

The writing has been on the wall for a long time.
Install a different OS or pull the GTX 970 and use your processor's integrated graphics instead.

I'm currently booted on my processor.

I guess its time to buy a mac then. Yes, writing been on the wall I guess. :(

I suppose there is a slim chance that Nvidia might recertify their drivers but there is no real incentive for them to do so.
