MSI PRO Z690 A DDR4 + i7-12700K + AMD RX 580

#515 of CaseySJ it seems to manage to make a titan work without flashing it with SSDT-MAPLE-RIDGE-RP05 mias I'm not sure if it works on monterey... I'll order the card thank you!

You can use your Thunderbolt card in one of two ways:
  1. Flashed with a full thunderbolt bus like a real mac
  2. ICM mode with a partial bus (works with most devices but not all)
It's really up to you. If you're capable of flashing and have the patience, that's definitely the way.

Interesting little thing but I don't know why? when I disable discrete thunderbolt, because I don't use it, the system reboots in a loop. by checking the other parameters that change by deactivating it, I realized that if I activate above 4g memory Crypto, the system started to boot normally again without activating the thunderbolt... Weird!

I mention this because if someone tries to start without the thunderbolt activated it will be necessary to reactivate the above 4g memory otherwise the system does not start. unless it's only with my config?...

moreover before testing this I had deactivated the DTBT Controler 0 and this removed the 3 second delay during boot without having added your bypass command...
Does if I disabled the thunderbolt it means that I can remove the SSDT-TB3-HackinDROM.alm?

Set DTBT Port to 1 but keep everything in Thunderbolt activated. Also enabled the GPE.TINI Patch I installed in your EFI.

Have you added agdpmod=pikera to your boot args yet?
Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I tried but nothing changed. The boot process gets stuck as before.
What BIOS version do you have?

In an effort to zero in on the problem here please try this EFI. Its my working EFI with a new serial (temporary, please don't sign into iCloud) and with Secure Boot Model.

I'm using an older BIOS version but have tried all.

You need to create and validate your own serial number.

I'm not familiar with that brand but the actual module is compatible. If it were me I'd stick with the Fenvi.

I was able to run, finally, using my own EFI.
Don't ask me why it started running...as I don't know it.
BUT I got a couple of things that have been giving issues:
- The DeviceProperties definition prevents the EFI from running. Even if it's just strings.
- Ethernet is not seen too. I used your DeviceProperties definition.
- WiFi (and bluetooth) don't work with the latest AirportItlwm.kext. Do they work for you? Actually WiFi worked once and then no more. The module is seen but internet fails to connect to both my wifi networks.
- I got a couple of kernel panics, but I need to re-assess now

Thanks for your help.

Did I include device properties in the latest? Should have just had the Intel Lan. I might have had the pikera boot arg in there too as I didn’t realize you were using a 580. My apologies.

You’ll need add back the device properly for LAN.

Drop your EFI here and let’s compare.

Your latest EFI works too.
But I suspect I did something in the Bios. I'm not 100% sure though.
- Is Intel WiFi supposed to work?
- Ethernet is not seen with your EFI too. Is there a way to make it work?

I'll share my EFI later but I guess there are not so many differences.

I'm glad you stuck it out! I wonder if changing to Secure Model helped. This Bios is a bit of a head scratcher. I'll be buying new NVME drives this summer and can try to figure it out as well then.
