[Success] Lenovo M93p, M73p "Tiny" mini PC i5 4570t, i7 4765t Yosemite-Catalina

I've found these Haswell based USFF 9020 mini PCs to work very well with Mojave through to Monterey.

Well built, reliable and the latest up to date BIOS is fully compatible.

Well I am at a bit of a loss,

When I brought the machine (M93P Tiny, I5-4570T, 8GB RAM) it had a BIOS from 2018, I tried the latest BIOS and even downgraded last night to the 2016 BIOS recommended at the beginning of this thread. I have adjusted all the BIOS settings mentioned here and in other guides to no avail.

I made several boot USB sticks with Clover and even found a compatible Opencore EFI. It is the same, the progress bar gets around half way and it reboots. I am at a bit of a loss. I have an M83 SFF and installing Catalina with Clover was easy.

@Gigamaxx if you happen to see this I would appreciate any ideas you may have

Thanks in advance
Sorry, I've been out of town. This EFI has worked for some time, But it was done using the old clover. At the time Open Core was messing with mainboard bios on Haswell systems. Maybe the Installer (MacOS) is not compatible. GibmacOS may have a workable version 10.15.4.

Are you seeing the Data and Recovery options in the Boot Menu? The install requires repeating the Install MacOS option until it goes away and leaves the Boot from MacOs and recovery options only.

No worries,

I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I only ever see the install Catalina option. I have let it reboot multiple times but the same thing happens. I am pretty sure I used your guide on my M83 SFF and that worked first time. I will look into the GibmacOS option

I found out what the issue was,

Determined not to be beaten by this I looked at what was different with my M83SFF running Catalina and this M93P and then it hit me, On the M93P I had it connected to a spare monitor via a regular VGA cable and on my M83 I was using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. I just tried that on the M93P and it booted up to the install screen first time.

I seem to remember now that you have to use the DisplayPort and not the VGA port (What a dumbass I am lol). It's been a while since I have done some Hackintoshing lol

Thanks again for the help

Are you using the Displayport connection? The VGA output is not compatible with MacOSX.

I have a Lenovo M700 Tiny that originally had Sierra installed and working. A security update rendered it unbootable. Figured I'd do a fresh install of Catalina instead. I created a Catalina USB drive, intending to following this guide here since another user with a Lenovo M700 Tiny was suggested to follow that guide.

Then I copied my Sierra EFI and overwrote the EFI that was on the Catalina USB that I created. Ran Clover configurator and generated new serial #, SMUUID, and ROM values. I then formatted the Sierra SSD using a High Sierra box with APFS, GUID and named it "Catalina" per UniBeast guide here. Upon boot, I cannot see the external USB Catalina drive to start booting, seen in attached pic. What did I do wrong?

Lenovo M700 Tiny is:
i3-6100T 3.20 GHz
Intel HD Graphics 530

Also attached the back up of the EFI from Sierra that I used before new serial SMUUID and ROM values. The install log is from the previous install in 2017.

Just closing my own loop. I went back to Sierra clean install, then upgraded to High Sierra successfully. I don't think I can skip directly to Catalina from Sierra. I may have missed the part about having apfs.efi, so I may try again later.

Hello everyone!
I pickup the Lenovo m93p for cheap has i5-4570T and downloaded the EFI posted in this thread and booted to Mojave graphics and usb working the only weird thing is about half way in progress bar while booting the sound switches on with a buzz coming out speakers. I'm using the front headphones jack. The audio still plays while using Mojave but it is combined with a buzz/ noise. The same desktop used with windows & linux with no issues with sound. It is like when the built-in audio card switches on while booting mac Os will produce a constant buzz. I tried a cheapo USB audio card and works fine. Any help is appreciated.
