Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Let’s try upgrading to OpenCore 0.7.8 (last month’s release) by following the mini-guide and doing the upgrade manually by downloading the EFI folder and entering PlatformInfo credentials into the config.plist.

Then boot macOS to with that version to verify it’s okay. If so, disable AppleVTD, reboot, and see if Windows will launch.
Ok, so I did a bit of experimenting, and after updating OC through HackinDROM to 0.78, and making sure SSDT-DMAR was included in the download, I followed your mini guide (and after adding my own USB SSDT from my previous EFI config, as the standard one enabled in the new EFI made me lose my front USB ports) everything works perfectly, and I can boot into Windows without disabling AppleVTD. Thanks again for your help Casey, your patience and willingness to help are a godsend to all of us :)

The wonderful thing about Arctic Liquid Freezer II is that it does not have any USB connections. It’s completely regulated by its own sensors and by the motherboard 4-pin header. You can use BIOS to set fan/pump curves.
I was researching last night and noticed this too! It will be the one I get. Apparently, it is very well built and has quality fans too. Thanks for the recommendation!

@CaseySJ I'm just preparing a USB installer for Monterey in case I can't repair my broken upgrade, are there any additional steps required should I go down the clean install route? I've prepared the EFI partition with SecureBoot disabled as per your previous reply. I've removed all the other NVMe/SATA drives so its just my boot disk present.

That's all we need. In fact the other NVMe and SATA drives can remain installed. It's the Windows installer that gets confused when a macOS (HFS or APFS) disk is present.

Ah good to know. I was just trying to ensure the set up was as simple as possible. I’ll post back on Monday or Tuesday in case I get stuck or if I have a list of extensions that could be causing the issue. I don’t have anything weird installed beyond some music software and maybe home brew.

Did the problem suddenly start? In other words, everything was working fine and then suddenly this problem started with no system or software changes made?

Does the problem happen with only when the 3rd monitor is connected through the dock?
So I think I've narrowed down the issue to Ethernet over the TS3+ dock being the culprit and not the displays. Looking at System Report, the Ethernet controllers on the dock loads up AppleEthernetE1000 which could be the problem perhaps? I've used the dock successfully before but haven't actually plugged it to Ethernet until now so I'm pretty sure this is the issue.

EDIT: Tried to patch the i210 on the dock with DeviceProperties but doesn't seem to stick.

Yesterday I tried to update Opencore to 0.7.9 version using Hackindrom app for the first time and somehow it messed up the EFI folder. I was stuck on the Apple logo, even booting from different backups of operatives EFIs on a pendrive (I tried with the last 8 EFIs, from 0.7.0 to 0.7.8). Finally and after dozens of tries (I don't know how, honestly, I ended even setting up the BIOS again) I could login and manually fix the EFI folder on the OS drive.

No more Hackindrom for me, I guess... it's not worth the risk. I hope our friend CaseySJ will continue sharing his updated EFI folders, my Hackintosh has been working really well with this manual method since I started this adventure almost 2 years ago.

@CaseySJ I'm sad to report the issue still persists. I successfully located the PCI NVMe Windows EFI partition map and added it successfully by following the guide @jd6 kindly posted. It must be a Samsung Pro 970 NVMe or could just be a general NVMe issue because there is currently no way to disable a NVMe M.2 drive in BIOS Z490 Vision D. The only way is to remove the drive completely and then reinstall back on the motherboard is to load Windows OS by itself. I installed Windows 11 separately on Samsung Pro 970 NVMe M.2 in the m2m_sb drive slot which was very easy to locate via openshell.efi UEFI tool. Has anyone been able to completely disable a NVMe drive from showing in boot picker on OC Boot Screen or completely hide from inside macOS disk utility?
Yes, I can confirm that you can hide Windows in OC Boot screen, or show it, ether way is possible. I have Windows 10/11 on NVMe Samsung 970 Pro like you and as the guide describe its possible to do.

And I can boot Windows from OC also or pressing F12 boot option from MB. and boot from there if I install Windows again or store a backup of it and don't want to do the process like in the guide to find the EFI path to re-put in OC Configurator.

But, making it disappear in BIOS or BIOS boot option or in disk-utility, I don't think it can be done except like you said to removed it from you hardware but I don't think that's what you want.

Can I ask do you use OpenCore themes?

Or, if you don't mind, upload your EFI here but take you serial number out of the config.plist.
I can look at it, and try to boot mine Hackintosh with it to see if I can find the problem. Sometimes, if you using OpenCore themes, an icon in there can make this to happen. I have experienced that once.

So the issue wasn't HackinDROM :)
